transferring vhs too dvd

HI
Just wanting some help if someone can point me in the
right direction.ive just bought myself a dvd recorder
and im succsessfully transfering my VHS videos onto DVD
but for some reason they wont play back on my dvd rom
on my computor so if anyone can help i would very much
appreciate it.

Have you finalised the DVD in the DVD recorder before trying it in the PC DVD drive?

Make sure your DVD-ROM drive is actually capable of playing back recorded DVDs - some early ones are not. Also ensure it is capable of playing back the same format of recordable disc you are using. Some only play -R discs and some only play +R discs.
