HI TO ALL..FIRSTLY LET ME JUST SAY THANKS TO THE REPLIES IN CONNECTION TO OUR TOPIC OF CONVERSTION INVOLVING MALE PERFORMERS.
OBVIOUSLY WE HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THE SUBJECT AND CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT US PERFOMERS. YOU ARE OF COURSE ENTITLED TO YOUR OWN OPINION.
IN A NUTSHELL SOME OF US HAVE BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY SINCE THE EARLY NINETIES....ISN'T THAT RIGHT MARINO!!! AND I LIKE TO THINK WE HAVE WORKED HARD OVER THE YEARS TO MAKE A NAME FOR OURSELVES SO PLEASE DON'T TELL US THAT WE ARE CRAP. THIS INVLOVES ALL MALE STARS WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT ISSUES WITHIN THEIR OWN RIGHT TO EXPRESS, ONE OF THEM BEING MONEY.
AS WITH EUROPE AND THE US WHERE SOME OF US WORK WE ARE ON A DIFFERENT WAGE AND PAID IN EUROS AT THE MINIMUM OF 500 EURO BUT THAT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR YOUR MONEY AND GIVE A GOOD PERFORMANCE. AS JOHN MENTIONED WHY SHOULD YOU PAY THE TOP MONEY TO THE GUYS YOU USE. THE ANSWER IS NOT SO SIMPLE BUT YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. IT'S WORD OF MOUTH AND BASICALLY THE MALE STARS ARE AS GOOD AS THEIR REPUTATION STATES.
WHAT IS A CRAP SCENE? NO WOOD..NO SCENE I GUESS AND SURELY TO ALL PRODUCERS PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR IT'S A LEARNING CURVE TO ALL TO WORK WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHEN PERFORMING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA.
AT THE END OF THE DAY IF THE BUDGETS CAN'T PAY THEN I GUESS THAT LEAVES THE DOORWAY OPEN TO NEW AND UP COMING ACTORS WHO WILL GAIN THE EXPERIENCE AND SLOWLY BUT SURELY BE PAID FOR WHAT THEY ARE WORTH. AS TO US WHO HAVE BEEN IN THIS INDUSTRY FOR MANY YEARS OUR GOALS ARE TO CONTINUE GIVING OUT THE PRODUCT AND MOSTLY WORK IN EUROPE AND US WHERE THERE IS MORE MONEY.
AS WITH EUROPE AND THE US YOU DON'T SEE THEIR ACTORS GETTING PAID LESS THAN THE GOIING RATE. DO YOU THINK ACTORS LIKE TT BOY, PETER NORTH AND MARK DAVIS ARE WORTH THEIR MONEY.
THE UK INDUSTRY HAS ONLY REALLY OPENED UP OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND NOW EVERYBODY WANTS TO PICK UP A CAMERA AND BE A PRODUCER WHICH IS GREAT FOR SOME ACTORS WITHIN THE AMATEUR FIELD.
WE ALL KNOW MORE OR LESS WHO PAYS AND WHO DOESN'T WITHOUT MENTIONING NAMES AND WITHOUT DOUBT I HOPE THAT WE UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SURVIVER WITHIN THE INDUSTRY. WE ARE NOT JUST A FEW ENGLISH GUYS WHO GIVE OUT A SCENE HERE AND THERE. WE ALL WORK FOR RESPECTABLE COMPANIES HERE AND ALL OVER EUROPE.
AS FOR 2004 I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE UK BECOMES STRONGER AND THAT WE HAVE NEW FEMALE STARS WHO WILL COME FORWARD FOR THE RIGHT MONEY AND THAT WE GIVE PRAISE TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR EFFORTS TO THE UK PORN INDUSTRY MALE AND FERMALE.

I see your points Tony, but you must realise that not all producers can pay ' the going rate'. This has nothing to do with amateur vs. professional it's more to do with market forces and ever diminishing returns.
I know we have never worked together, mainly because of the money issue, but I'm sure as Lee has told you I make up for the lack of pennies in other ways. (his fashion portfolio is now earning him BIG money!) In general my stills take less than 20 minutes and I shoot my scene straight through without the 'stop/start' of other producers, so a 20 minutes scene is only 20 minutes! I pay the guys ?100 in cash for less than an hours work. In somes cases if the guy is up for it he can work with 2 girls in the same day and double his money. It's an easy days work and it's always cash on the day.
As you know I work both sides of the camera and to be honest I would rather earn ?100 in cash for a day I was doing nothing else than sit at home and earn nothing!

As one of the producers who pay's the going rate I can't see what the problem is am I the only one that does or something. I thought it was about the production if its a Jonnyrebel and like John says its an hour why should it be the same payment as one of my movies with Steve having dialogue having to dress up and play football then 4 hours for a scene.
As for the American Europeen guys its not fair to generalise. I have shot with Rocco for free, TT Boy for free, Christoff for free and many more for various fees....I think its all about time for money if a scene is an hour you can do two or three a day (well I can) so it works out the same as a scene taking the whole day. Rocco & Christoff used to travel Europe on day & half day shoots just for the money. If they can do it.....
Finally I am quite prepared to subsidise John's shoots if it means he does not get in front of the camera,,,,,

Your posts are welcome, and the debate is interesting, but very difficult to read. Contrary to how it may seem, all caps is more difficult to read than lower case with caps in the appropriate places, quite apart from the issue of shouting.

Hi to all.

Firstly, let me just say thanks to the replies in connection to our topic of conversation involving male performers. Obviously, we have mixed feelings about the subject and certain individuals have nothing good to say about us performers. You are of course entitled to your own opinion.

In a nutshell, some of us have been in the industry since the early nineties.... isn?t that right Marino? I like to think we have worked hard over the years to make a name for ourselves so please don't tell us that we are crap. This involves all male stars who are concerned about issues within their own right to express, one of them being money.

As with Europe and the USA (where some of us work), we are on a different wage and paid in euros at the minimum of 500 euro, but that goes without saying that you have to work for your money and give a good performance. As John mentioned, why should you pay the top money to the guys you use? The answer is not so simple, but you pay for what you get. It?s word of mouth, and basically the male stars are as good as their own reputation states.

What is a crap scene? No wood. No scene I guess and surely to all producers professional and amateur it's a learning curve to all to work with people who know what they are doing when performing in front of the camera.

At the end of the day, if the budgets can't pay then I guess that leaves the doorway open to new and up coming actors who will gain the experience, and slowly but surely be paid for what they are worth. As to us who have been in this industry for many years our goals are to continue giving out the product, and mostly work in Europe and us where there is more money.
As with Europe and the USA you don't see their actors getting paid less than the going rate. Do you think actors like TT boy; Peter North and Mark Davis are worth their money. The UK industry has only really opened up over the last few years and now everybody wants to pick up a camera and be a producer, which is great for some actors within the amateur field.

We all know more or less who pays and who doesn't without mentioning names. Without doubt, I hope that we understand what it takes to be a survivor within the industry. We are not just a few English guys who give out a scene here and there. We all work for respectable companies here and all over Europe.

As for 2004, I can only hope that the UK becomes stronger and that we have new female stars who will come forward for the right money and that we give praise to all those who have given their efforts to the UK porn industry male and female.

I 'm not sure exactly what you are getting at John...none of us are in need of portfolios and regardless wether the scene is a "lolipop scene" as we call it in europe which lasts 20 minutes or that it takes 1-4 hours it's still a sex scene.
From the moment the BJ starts to the pop shot that's what an actor earns.
Honestly..can you see me ,Steve , Ian or Jazz amongst the few doing a scene for ?100 and where do you get this idea that we sit at home scratching our backsides doing nothing. We all work mate and if we don't that's because we choose to do so. Next you'll be telling me that a girl has got to do 2 photo sets and a video for ?200 but who am I to tell you how to run your business.
I am just a actor turning director and believe that all adult perfomers should earn a decent wage. I personally wouldn't drop my trousers for ?100 but if you have your actors to do so then so be it. I wish you all the best with your filming.
