Stupid Parents

i tend to live in a less paranoid world where kids are allowed to be exposed to a degree of risk, your thoughts remind me of the little britain sketch about a peado on every corner with mobs hunting them down

your comment that the parents are the ones responsible for this is ludicrous, ever considered the person who did this might actually be the one responsible

Yes the person or persons responsible for the child's abduction are ultimately responsible but shes' a 3 yr old child left alone during the night-even if she weren't abducted she could have sucombed to all manner of incidents eg a fire breaking out,sickness,distress at being left alone in unfamiliar surroundings.The abductor has been aided and abetted by the parents negligence in my opinion.Whilst I feel sorry for the parents who must now regret their negligent behaviour,the ultimate victim in all of this is a 3 yr old child who very probably would be with her parents right now if they had chosen to have a babysitter protect her and look after her.

No matter what any of us say about the parents, they'll be saying it themselves----a thousandfold. But could we please have enough compassion for the family to give it a rest until Madeleine is found?

We all make mistakes. All it takes is a small error of judgment, a miscalculation, and something goes horribly wrong. For most of us, the most serious consequence is embarrassment or perhaps some financial cost. If we're very unlucky, it costs someone their life, or changes their life for the worse.

All the tabloid speculation, all the finger-pointing at the "bad" parents, can't change what's happened. Let's just hope this has a happy ending, eh.

I agree with many of the comments on this board, but out of respect I think we should all just calm down being the "blame police" on this and all pray, although I'm not religious I have "hoped to God she is found alive" which I am sure all of you are thinking, so please no more attacks on the parents and lets all focus on our thoughts being with them rather than against them at this time.

I'll go along with what you've just said- such an unfortunate,sad event arouses passions but enough has been said about the parents. I'll also hope/pray for the child's safe return to her family.
