If I may quote from a mail I had from a respected and established UK producer (unlike me) a few days back:
"The producers and photographers who do use current girls and pretend they?re OK or aren?t bright enough to grasp the fact that they?re crap are just perpetuating the problem."
So I guess its not just me then - enough said.

Actually, Jason, you're wrong on this point, and that's part of the problem. Many of the performers, and especially the producers, are not in it for the money, and that's what lowers the standards.
What we need is fewer amateurs, in the true sense of the word (those who do it because they love it, rather than for the money) and more professionals. We especially need more producers of talent and integrity. Unfortunately, in an industry where the product cannot be sold except under severe restrictions (and where there is so much opprobrium heaped on those involved) very few talented people are going to expend their time and money on it.
Result, talentless producers and not many attractive girls. I have enormous respect for Wendy as a person, but she is no longer a young lovely of eighteen to twenty two, and, whilst there is still a place for her, the industry will die, as Jason says, without an influx of young and attractive new talent.
Interestingly, an earlier poster talked about over-made-up fake-looking American pornstars. He's out of touch. The flavour of the month (and I hope for rather longer) in America is the fit, natural, young teen, like Gauge, Aurora, Jasse, and a dozen others. Look at Bubble Girls or SoCal Coeds.
Here in the UK we have few people to match them. And we never will, unless we develop some home-grown producers who are in it for the money rather than the sex, who will pay good girls what they are worth, and who have the organisational abilities to operate from the UK but to sell from offshore with (for instance) a Delaware-based company to ensure anonymity and tax-effectiveness.
Anyway, given the situation we should be thankful for what we've got in this thought-prison, so thanks to the girls, and come on producers, pull your socks up!

Re: My tuppennyworth
The girls in this country are better than okay, they're the BEST! If you have a probelm with that then get into another line of work!
Re: My tuppennyworth
Well said and a lot of very good points made however one thing I want to point out is that I do not have an issue with the current crop of girls solely because of their age or their attractiveness (or lack of).
It is more because every video that comes out features the same people over and over again which is why I specifically said new and fresh talent rather than young and attractive.

Re: My tuppennyworth
Actually George, I stated that I would rather watch british gals of all ages and sizes than the typical stereotype American porn actress, who in my opinion, is silicone and colygen enhanced with a mane of peroxide blonde hair. I maybe out of touch as I don't watch American porn, but that was THE look fpor the past 10 years.
And I would rather watch British porn than Teen or Co-ed girls.......ANYDAY!!

Re: My tuppennyworth
George, you're another one who seems to be blinkered about this industry. I see new girls every week coming into this business. Some go on to stay the distance, while others only last a few months, but either way there are plenty of new girls out there.
I suggest you open your eyes and start looking for them...they are out there!

Re: My tuppennyworth
Fair comment, Ace. Each to his own. My main point (I think!) was that we are operating in an oppressive milieu, and as a result, the operators (the producers) are not perhaps the best we could hope for. If they were, standards would be higher and we would all be happier.
Re: My tuppennyworth
If you consider the current crop to be the best this country has to offer then porn in the UK is fucked, period.
And as for your childish comments about going to Eastern Europe for girls or leaving this business altogether as long as I pay tax and can breathe I will go where I please and do what I like. If you, or anyone else, doesnt like it then tough shit.

Re: My tuppennyworth
You may be right, John, but I fear my old eyes have missed them. Some examples, perhaps?
Re: My tuppennyworth
