The guy at x3 seemed quite harsh, but fair in his cocky american vernacular but he did like my stuff. Phew, now that would have been a kick in the balls eh?

I must admit to agreeing in the main with the premise of only getting what you pay for. When you go to the cinema or to watch a play at the theatre
they don`t give you a copy of it on DVD or tape at the end. If you want to see it again you have to pay again or choose another film.
Why porn should be any different , I don`t understand.
Making movies of almost any kind is hard work, and expensive.
What is needed here is a good old piece of `cartel` work, where ALL
makers do what is right for them, not the punter.
Of course as OEJ says if nobody pinched the material this would all be unnecessary

I pay for something I would like then do what ever I want with it.

Consumers don't like DRM/copy protection.

It's an honest point, we now have the freedom to watch porn but wait someone else is going to take control.

Kevboy you are being far to sensible mate, I meen when you rent a dvd from the video store it costs ?3 and you take it back, why is it any different unless you are a Pirate you have nothing to fear from DRM. We have a chance as producers for the first time to go Producer to Punter direct even live if we choose and there are still people who are not happy fortunatly they are not punters they are trolls, just looking to be on the oposite side of anything....you will be able to watch a FT full scene non 18R the same day its shot for about ?2 if that is not fair what is.

As a punter and surfer I am absolutely not convinced about IPTV and / or any sort of streaming service especially not regarding it taking over from DVD.

There have been adult streaming services around for quite a while (aebn.net for example) and, while they may appear to represent good value for money in the longer term they actually dont. At 5p per minute and a typical DVD is about 140 mins long so thats ?7 per DVD you pay and thats to see it once - thats more expensive than the cimema in most areas and (again speaking as a punter and not as a vendor you can buy DVDs for that sort of money from the US and you have the tangible product to watch over and over again.

Also on a technology side TCP/IP as a protocol is fraught with problems for this sort of service (as well as for many others) which, while made better, are not simply solved by having a faster broadband connection (contention ratios for example can make a massive difference) - there are a lot of other factors to consider and I can see a lot of unhappy customers because the feed is grainy or jumps, problems with overloaded servers, busy networks, DOS not to mention just your normal computer issues.

Thats not to say that it wont be popular for those people who just want to watch one scene and then move on but I for one cant see me ever sitting in front of my PC watching a porn movie that I have paid to watch once when I can for a few pounds more buy the title and watch it in the comfort of my lounge on a comfy sofa on my big screen telly and watch it over and over again if I so choose.

IPTV is on your TV set not just your PC, 90% of punters watch scenes not films hence why we call a movie a 5 wank movie. No one wanks for 120 minutes not even Superdick.
Why do you suppose ever major electrical and media company are behind this. By this opinion we would have never had any internet, I can assure anyone it will work and with estimates running as high as 12million in UK by 2007 I think my money is safe. I am many of my producers hate DVD it is the tool of pirates look on Ebay and you will see every UK producers stuff pirated at 20movies for 20 quid. IPTV is the answer and all good honest punters will love it, click a button 4 seconds later you get DVD quality (well actually better than DVD) for appox ?2-3 a scene. You can even fast forward to the juicy bits and pay only to watch them if you buy in minutes.
Wake up and see the sense.

Define what you mean by doing what you want with it. In my mind, this includes pirating and selling to your friends.

By the way, Will, it would be nice to have an opinion if you checked out my site after all these posts and let us know if DRM is such a pain in the arse that some here would have you believe.
