"....But simple H&S practice can save the industry!"

Absolutely, and prevent you from being sued to. this also came up in the meeting with the clinics where someone said if his missus had an accident or caught anything on a set (especially on the satellite stations) he will sue and I believe he wasnt joking either and explained how the adult industry is living on borrowed time with regards this issue.

Glad to hear you are vigilant with this Nick. Im sure many others are too though its usually the minority that causes a problem for the majority

It appears some of the warnings I've been posting over the past few years are now being taken seriously Terry.

Producers and performers at all levels run this risk and would do well to consider protecting themselves (if not already) via PL and (where relevant) EL insurance.

Whilst this will just be seen as another unnecessary expense, the financial consequences of being sued when someone does contract a serious illness or disease don't bear thinking about. I've heard all the arguments about volenti, contributory negligence, etc. but they don't wash and it's fair to say the industry is sitting on a knife-edge.

I have no personal involvement with any insurance arrangements for the industry but there are a number of specialist schemes out there and if anyone needs advice on their specific circumstances, as a qualified Chartered Insurer and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, I'm happy to assist.

Nice reply Dani Amour but i think you are missing the point , as swine flu will probably cause the demise this year of more people than stds then where should your priorities be, one person in three are espected to get swine flu but within the adult industry with more personal contact then it will surely be a higher ratio, to be honest most of the scaremongering is shite and sex was invented long before any of us were ever around and populations have grown over the years so that should tell you something..

Maybe a more simplified database could be set up by the NHS and other participating clinics where no personel information needed to be involved ie:

Every cert issued has a reference number so all that would need to be entered in to the database would be the ref: number the date the cert was issued and the name of the clinic that issued it, no personel information would need to be entered and anyone could have access to the database where you just enter the ref: number of a cert where you will find the date the cert was issued and the name of the issuing clinic, it would be upto performers to check the validity of a fellow performers certs against the database, i realise this system could still be open to abuse by someone forging certs using another persons reference number so you would need to be vigilant about who views your certs but no sytem will ever be 100% foolproof.

You would not need to sign up to this system just inform the clinic at time of your test that you would like the relevant information to be entered in to the database and only the clinics would be able to enter this information via a password or code.

If such a database could be set up then the rest would be down to performers to decide wether they wished to use it or not.

What point exactly am i missing here????
I said i will not be doing any shoot's til i am fully clear of swine flu, and that my certs will not be effected my the treatment as im not due another cert for another 3 weeks by this time the medication will be out of my body!!!!!!

So please do tell what i have missed?

Also you make ref to where my priorities should be! again what are you implying here? My priorities are the health of myself and any fellow performers. that is why i have canx all my shoots over the next few weeks, so again do tell me what i have missed here to?

Have a read of this and if you are really interested, listent to the discussion on it and expand from there as the method was discussed in full by the clinics already

I'm all cool with this being discussed by everyone but not one person has suggested anyhting we havent heard from the discussion on the link already.

Maybe people maybe better equipped to expand on this instead of asking what we already know.

We've covered data protection law and how the database works but all I keep hearing is the same thing and we are just going aropund in circles as if this is all new.

This topic is becoming like "Has Teresa May done hardcore?"

Hi Al

Please listen to this link and you will find this came up on the discussion why producers should realise this affects them as well even if they are not performing.

you have a very rose tinted glasses view of how good the nhs computer systems are
and the nhs wouldn't allow an outside organisation, let alone outside individuals, access to it's systems. unless the company has a contract with them- eg computer software firms.

Much more than a handful but never a waste.

Dani the use of some medication & its effects on peoples certs will always be avoided on this forum which is a bit of a bummer but ask yourself the affect it will have on the industry & remember money is involved .
Once someone as sued a clinic for being affected by a person they have give the all clear to on a masked cert people will look at these old posts & think why didn't we (as an industry) look into this further, if you know of anyone getting certs etc from private clinics when on or just finishing antibotics or other medicines which mask certs please e-mail us & we will log these clinics so others can avoid them.

It should be the responsibility of the clinic to have a questionaire asking people about any drugs they have taken & get the person having the test to sign these papers thus releasing the clinic of any legal implications.
Also clincs should tell people who have been a drug that could mask the test to wait the given period & refuse them their test, as clinics are trying to get our custom surely on health grounds they would do this.
