Aha, so you're using the same high-quality models as me then? LOL.

Not sure that I know many girls who would be happy for me to consider them a 'Loss Leader' but I take your point.

Re: Modelling Rates
A day can vary between models too because some models think the working day begins before she actually arrives and expects travel to come out of the time she's supposed to be working. Trust me I've seen just about everything.
Then there's additional details like make-up time and the fact that a pro model can production-line the day so you get lots of stuff whilst an amateur will require direction that takes much more time.
Basically this means that every job is different for me and every model will offer something of use whilst presenting issues too. A great model may need some time in the 'refurbishment' department before I can open the shutter. A more 'difficult' and patchy model may be a natural beauty and able to get straight to work without much in the way of 'slap' so everything is swings and roundabouts.
Let's face it... on a big boobs site (for example) why should a girl with a healthy F-cup get the same rate as another girl sporting a whopping J-Cup?
You don't go to Burger King and expect to pay the same for a Whopper as a couple of cheeseburgers... well do you?
Models who charge less will get more work, more exposure and therefore a better income.
'Toggers who pay more will attract better models, get better stock and therefore earn more.
Basically my answer is that I have no bloody idea what the 'going' rates are or should be. I look at it this way - if everyone is happy at the end of a working day then that was the right pay for the right work.
I don't suppose this was much help but it goes to show that at least I'm giving the subject some serious thought.

Re: Modelling Rates
The problem is though that when girls start doing "special offers" or selling themselves short it can set a precedent and ruin it for other models.
An annoying thing is when you have a tog reply to an add that displays your rates then asks you what your rates are.Either they can't be bothered to read the add or hope you'll change your mind.
One thing I have noticed on this thread is that despite the amount of togs replying, none have really said how much they pay.!whistle!

Re: Modelling Rates
If I want to work with the model and I feel she is charging a fair rate then I pay what she asks for.
I've got quite a few continental and watersports shoots booked over the next couple of months and none of the prices are the same as the girls are charging anywhere between ?50 to ?70 p/h.
I guess if I broke it down over the last few years then an average would be ?60 for continental and ?70 for watersports. A lot of the girls I shoot who just do nude probably averages out at about ?40 p/h.

Re: Modelling Rates
These are the standard rates i tend to try and work to.
Fashion / Lingerie up to ?25 p/h
Implied Topless ?30p/h
Topless ?35p/h
Art Nude ?40p/h
UK mag ?45p/h
US mag ?50p/h
Continental ?60-?70p/h
The problem being i am not sure they would be correct.

Re: Modelling Rates
They would seem to be the average rates from all the girls I've worked with.
Obviously some reduce their rates if you book them for half a day or a full day, and some stick an extra tenner on top of each hour if it involves video work, but overall you seem to be paying about the same that I'm quoted by most models.

Re: Modelling Rates
Thank You, Welshmorph.
That what i wanted to know.
I have no wish to rob anyone and i more than happy to pay the standard rates.
Has i said in my other post i have had replies from some girls on the Purestorm site saying that the rates were too low, and i just wanted to check if the rates i quoted were the average.

Re: Modelling Rates
Deffo wouldn`t say them rates are low nikonman, you are paying well, good on ya and doubt many models would be unhappy with such rates. After all, how much work at levels like fashion, lingerie, implied and maybe even topless actually gets done through the internet?? very very little, it tends to be tfcd as this levels are what they refer is real world work done through agencies and the best of the best models.
From speaking to models and stuff your rates are probably right for 1 and 2 hour shootings but the longer you book the cheaper it should be. Like Kaz B says about working from home she fits more working hours in this way as it eliminates travelling time for her and i guess if a model is travelling a couple or more hours each way for a shoot then she's only going to fit in one shoot a day so is always better for her to take a longer booking at less ph than a shorter one at higher ph.
I don`t understand though why so many people use terms like 'implied' 'art nude' 'uk mag' and so on !confused! you either clothed or nude, implied is just completely ridiculous and seems to be used by togs to push models levels and get a glimpse of a bit more (like they don't care about getting it in shot just so long as they get an eyeful), art nude seems to be used by people both sides of camera who think they better than everyone else, as if what they do is tasteful and respectful but it is still t&a and there is nothing artistic about ANY so called 'art nude' photos i ever seen infact they usually just copy poses they've seen elsewhere so how can that be art. Wish people would just be brave enough to call a spade a spade but maybe real reason is too many blokes trying to justify there hobby to the wife or gf. UK and us mag well uk mag term was started donkey years ago when uk mags were just showing a bush with legs closed tighter than a ducks arse but nowadays uk mags are much changed.
Sorry if sounds i am laughing at you using the terms, i am not taking a go at you personally nikonman, and sorry if gone of topic, I know you didn't start these terms and probably only posted because so many people DO use them, but i just think they are ridiculous terms and wanted to what others thought.

Re: Modelling Rates
I don't think modelling rates work because producers on low budgets would be squeezed (even more) out of the market. For us it depends on the model as some are worth paying more than others if they are well known or can draw in the people to your site etc.
The model always as the last word & can always refuse the offer the producer offers, for agenices who want their pound of flesh yes of course they will ask for the Max but thats why we have AdultWork & Glamour Finder for us poor folk who can't pay high fee's. With the credit crunch as it is models themselves will be more flexible because if a model wants ?300 & the producer as only a budget of ?200 most will accept as its cash at the end of the day.

P.S. These are my views as a struggling producer, as a model i myself demand Max fee's as i am a well known model & its up to them if they accept my pay demands. All models will reprice themselves (well ones with any savvy) if they need the money.
