With all due respect Steve, I think I have to agree with Ace!
I'm now in my 16th year in the porn industry and I've NEVER had a problem selling a 'black' girl set to ANY editor I've every sold to.
I've NEVER had an editor turn down a set because the girl was 'black' and I don't think I ever will!
As for Dibbles ramblings about all the girls being the same size, I think if he had bothered to go to the BGAFD party he'd have seen girls with ALL types of figures! I don't think anyone would say Anouska was a 34-24-34!
bias v black girls in UK Men's Mags?
Re: o/t Re: bias v black girls in UK Men's Mags?
" Having a guess I'd say the majority would be bought by White guys...so hence forth the leanings to white girls...Mags probably run by white editors?"
Er, well, of course there would be more white girls in any mag aimed at a predominantly white population. But what we are trying to establish is why there are no longer any voluptuous black stunners being featured in today's bland mags. I always feature black girls in any mags I produce. The interest is comparatively small, but significant. However, adding a small amount of black content, as well as other interesting configurations of girl, adds the 'salt 'n' pepper to any adult magazine. Even if you produced a mag with only Silvia Saint type goddesses even that would pale after a very short while. You need the variety to hold it all together.
"I seem to remember there being all black mags in the eighties
and it was only the really exotic looking black girls that got into the likes of Mayfair and Knave etc"
So why do you reckon there are no new "exotic looking black girls" in today's Knave, Mayfair etc? Don't you think today's guys would appreciate that? Have we (guys) changed so much in the intervening period?
Dibble.

Ah, Anouska... Yes, as it happens I clocked her in a video last night and was intrigued enough to reach for my filofax and jot her name down for future attention/reference.

Not enough "Real" talent to go around or are signed exclusively to Mags like Score not to mention the internet
On top of that there is always the fact that women have more opportunities these days to make a good living...just a case of there being better paying jobs available to women than Nude Modelling IMPO.
I know 2 women that run their own company-personnel placement...each works 3 days a week...turn over 1.5 million Aussie dollars...I'm thinking these opportunities probably didn't exist in the eighties before deregulation hit town.
cheers

"Its also about who your pitching your product too as well
Having a guess I'd say the majority would be bought by White guys...so hence forth the leanings to white girls...Mags probably run by white editors?"
I read an interesting article some years ago, which basically said that magazines, across the entire spectrum (Womans Own, Cosmo, etc.) virtually always sold more copies with a white face on the cover than a black face.
I guess thats all the bean counters look at.
