If you have XP:

Start>Control Panel

Date, Time, Language and Regional Options

Regional and Language Options


In the 'Regional Options' tab, make sure 'English (United Kingdom)' is selected in the 'Standards and formats' section and in the 'Location' section, make sure you choose 'United Kingdom'.

Then click on the 'Languages' tab and click 'Details'. In the 'Default input language' section make sure you choose 'English (United Kingdom)' is chosen and that the 'English (United Kingdom)' is highlighted in the box below. Click apply, then apply again and restart your PC.

If you have a British keyboard then the ? sign is abouve the 3. The American keyboards have the # sign above the 3 so you've most definately got the American keyboard layout setup in XP.

Hooray! It's worked Prof. Look; ???????????????????. Don't you just love the ????????????????????? signs!

I've had this lappy now for two years and today is the first time that the ????????????? have worked - yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

That's why I call you a Prof, Prof !thumbsup! !thumbsup!

The # has always worked.

How do you know so much about computers then Prof? Study Computer Technology at College? Is that how you obtained your Professorship?

I know nowt about 'em Trumpy. I just know the layout for American keyboards and recognised that that's what you'd got set up! !laugh!
