Pro's & con's for legalising drugs. You are never going to stop people taking drugs which results in crime over here, deaths from contaminated drugs, poverty amongst the growers and big money to the criminals who run the different operations (remember Escobar was the 7th richest man in the world)

Legalise it and the drugs are safer, even with the tax that the government would put on it, it would be cheaper which may reduce the amount of crime carried out to buy them. The growers could become respectable and not be at the mercy of the overlords and the criminals would have to become respectable like the bootleggers in the US after prohibition ended.

More people would try drugs but hell it is their choice at the end of the day, you would probably start drug runs to Calais the same as the booze runs as the French tax would be lower than ours, British farmers would start growing poppies and the economy would be better off.

Can see the budget news now, "usual labour budget, smokers, drivers and druggies hit in the pocket again".

As for brothels, they work well in many countries, the same as drugs, people will always use prostitutes so why not make it safer. Safer for the girls, reduction in STD's and money for the taxman.

I'm well aware RaRa that a high percentage of prostitutes do it to feed a habit, didn't you read what I said about health checks ? legalised brothels would be safer all round for both the "sex worker" and the punter, healthwise (both from disease, violence, & drug addicts) you stick a needle in your arm, no'one else does, you take any drug ON YOUR OWN, unless it's literally forced down your throat, I grew up with it and it almost cost me my life, it's cost the lives, and the families even of most I grew up with, and it still is, but the sad thing is, they had a choice and could have walked away, they had good homes, anything they needed. don't we all have the gift of free will? I took drugs because I liked to, not because I "needed" to, why do you take drugs? to feel good no? well you can't feel good everyday, and some people don't feel good everyday at all, I stopped not for me, but for someone else, and I wouldn't change it, because people that grow up around that shit don't have a choice in what they see you doing, and it becomes a vicious circle, so you have a responsibility as a human being not to subject others to your self destruction no?

Drugs, drugs what are you talking about? Do they have names? Are they plants or plant derivatives. You know those green things that breath in your carbon dioxide and breath out nice clean oxygen for you to breathe. They belong to all the beings on this planet.
The word "drug" has become a gross generalisation. The general public, especially the older generation don't have a clue. They are the type who drink high alcohol type drinks. Alcohol addicts. There are prostitutes who never touch heroin and prefer another recreational substance.

I was in a cell once with Tony, a guy that used heroin every day. It was a job getting in the toilet. He never injected, just smoked it, chased the dragon. He was a nice guy and he would always give me some hash. I never touched his little white bag even though it was free to me. He never smoked my hash because he got too paranoid. I was the art teacher and I got him onto my class. He was the cheeky, chirpy cockney wisecracker. He appeared quite straight.
Yeah he was in for dealing. But what I am saying psychotropic substances suit different people and not all users are beggars or addicts. Just because you enjoy a glass of wine it does not mean that you progress to being an alcohol addict. Addiction is an illlness. We have receptors in our CNS designed for canniboids, for example.

Your birthright is all the plants that exist on the Earth. All of them alter the chemistry of the body and the mindstate. No one has the right to prevent the inhabitants of the Earth from consuming them because they are here for us and belong to us all. Among then you can discover the cure for all ailments.

With you 100% Mike. The fact that drug prohibition is directly responsible for pushing young girls onto the streets is yet another reason to repeal it.

The drugs laws seem tailor made to help bastard pimps exploit vulnerable girls living in care.

You're right. But legalising drugs will stop young drug addicts from working the streets.
Drugs, drugs what are you talking about? Do they have names?
You know what we're talking about Mike. We're referring to illegal substances that people consume because they can't go through life being content with a clear head. Real life isn't what they expect so rather than dealing with it, they try to escape through substances the society they live in deems illegal & a nuisance.
I was in a cell once with Tony, a guy that used heroin every day.
This is ominous...
He was a nice guy and he would always give me some hash.
Yep, cells are full of nice guys, but enough of my scepticism......
He never smoked my hash because he got too paranoid.
How thoughtful of him.
He appeared quite straight...........Yeah he was in for dealing.
Aghh, definitely a nice guy then. Of course he was a moral dealer and never took money off under age kiddies to get them hooked before adulthood. Poor bloke, being banged up 'an all'.
Addiction is an illness.
Hmmmmm so they say. Not the same as catching flu though Mike. I wouldn't inject myself with the flu virus on a daily basis and then cry for free help whilst making my girl do all the chores because I ache all over. That would be selfish and wrong - right? Oh yeah........drug addicts usually have a selfish streak.
But what I am saying psychotropic substances suit different people and not all users are beggars or addicts.
And not all madmen will destroy the world if they had nuclear capability. So who decides who's sensible enough to become a legalised heroin user, and who dictates who's prohibited?
Your birthright is all the plants that exist on the Earth. All of them alter the chemistry of the body and the mindstate.
Aghh so these altered mindstates, what are the general mindstates achieved? Friendliness? Paranoia? Rage? Terror? Psychotic? I was 14 and walking home after a game of football. I met up with a friend of the same age who'd been on the fungus. We walked past a park bench and he screamed, turned round and ran into a tree. He screamed at me that the park bench was following him and ran full speed across a main road. Screeching of tyres and a crash. Luckily he wasn't hit and the drivers who collided were unhurt, but a lucky escape. 10 years later he went to work while stoned. He worked in a scrap yard and had an accident where both legs were crushed. He now has permanent crutches to get around at 29 years of age.

Like I've said before where you've skirted the answer. You've also been an advocate of relaxing the UK's gun laws so people can defend their homes. How do freedom of drugs and freedom of gun ownership go together sensibly? Do we have societies like this? Oh yes, we just about have this in some regions of Africa where they impale and torture anyone they find for a laugh. Altered mindstates and guns eh? What a future you look forward to Mike!

To be honest this state of affairs can only be thought of as a good idea by someone under the influence of some chemical or other, and in one of these 'altered mindstates' you talk of so fondly.

Onto the streets for what? Taking drugs or prostitution? Wasn't prostitution rife before drug use became illegal in our society?

I assume that many of you are pornographers? How do you see yourselves in all of this? Porn, many will say is just another for of prostitution. I recall the american pornographer Holly Randall saying that drugs are extremely common amongst "talent" they take them (meth/crack) because it allows them to do the acts they are asked to do. Thats not word for word what she said but its near enough. Ive noticed she can be pretty contemptuous of talent but not see the hypocracy of her own career choice, and it was a choice - she has a degree in English from UCLA and a rich pornographer mother/writer father.

Having spent some time with a women who acts as a carer to an 18 year old female heroin addict I agree with eroticartist, legalise both. However it will not stop street sex workers - as you lot well know people are very attracted to sleaze including the street sex workers.
