Vidshop Problems- who is the owner?
Re: Vidshop Problems- who is the owner?
Tried ordering from canamax several months ago - nothing whatsoever happened. No money was deducted and no tape arrived.
Re: One other thing about canamax...and vidshop to
One thing I recall was that the Ben Dover DVDs sold by Vidshop are on the Canamax label [...] so I wonder if [...] indeed they are one and the same.

I believe the ?25.00 or so to be a cause not worth pursuing simply due to the cost and time it might take to recover it. You could spend a whole day, week, even month investigating and chasing something like this up and still have no joy at the end of it. My reference to ?train spotters? was due to the fact that these are the type of people who would spend that valuable time chasing ?25.00 up. Being small timers, maybe pedantic, and not having anything else very interesting going on in their lives, they would consider it a real big deal. Most folks would shrug it off and put it down to experience and get on with their lives and their businesses. It would cost even the smallest businessman far more than ?25.00 if he were to squander away a full day chasing something like this up what with e-mails, phone calls, faxes and research. Simply economics my dear Watson.
But I don't see a major problem if the product has been purchased with a credit card - Just make a complaint to the relevant card company, then it will be up to the merchant to prove that you have ordered the goods and that they have dispatched in good faith. I don?t know the full facts of the case but this could be a simple solution.
Also, I was not suggesting that plain fraud was behind the problems being experienced - I don't know for certain, that's just a possibility. Far more likely is what has already been mentioned - incompetence, or a breakdown of the organisation.

Yep, in fact when I went back to have a proper look at the vidshop site, they have a whole bunch of Canamax label films - about 50 or so, if I remember. It would seem they at least have very good contacts with canamax.

I've checked my checks. They have all been cashed. I have potentially lost approx ?100 (sterling). Is this a small deal?
I haven't been recontacted by info@vidshop.nl yet.
The accumulating evidence seems to suggest a larger widescale problem.
