It would be good to have the inside track, but unfortunately it won't come from this video. Looks like Ben hasn't given up his dream of being a musician, but he should probably knock the attempts at standup comedy on the head. Most of his jokes were stuff that Jim Davidson would reject as too cheap, and the Arnold Schwarzenegger "pun" was a particularly grim low point.

Shame, because he's one of the last remaining guys that would be able to give a detailed history of the UK smut biz from back in the day. I'm actually quite surprised that a David McGillivray-type biographer/historian hasn't rounded up all the veterans of the industry and written a proper book on the subject.

Ben will be the first to tell you he aint no Jim Davidson. His real strenghth is not in stand up comedy but more anecdotal studies of his life in porn (at least for me that is)

On another note, I hear what you are saying about the history of this business and there is a book out about the industry Part 1 covers the origins of the business and the players in the 60's leading up to the 70s

UKAP also screened Hardcore Guaranteed a documentary film about Mike Freeman and did a Q&A with the author of the book Under The Counter who consulted on it

Oliver Carter was also credited as consultant on a BBC documentary Bent Coppers about police corruption in the 70s titled Bent Coppers
