Whats happened to all of the websites from a decade ago? Models Heaven, Models Club, Be Seen Here, Virtual Video Girls and a plethora of others have all vanished. Now all we've been left with are PS, PP, MadCow and Air. I know there are a few others like MM and NM but they don't seem that active. Are there any other places to look for models? Particularly the "girl next door" amateur sort?

Porn has changed. Its now in the hands of everyone who makes it and webcamming now.
The output from the big studios is not as prolific but the quality has gone up. Just a shame it looks like all the same girls working with the same guys

Even though ATVOD have all but gone since December I dont think the trend will reverse soon
I cant speak for those sites butit seems to me a lot of people couldnt be bothered to stand and fight and just left and that could simply be down to not making enough money to be bothered to oppose any changes

To counterpoint this a bit, I think that a lot of the "bread and butter" paid work that models got from sites like ps etc was always from amateurs/collectors etc. Iaint always used to say this, and I think he's right. Other than a VERY small number of models who can make their living as models working on professional assignments, the vast majority of "internet models" got work with amateurs, hobbiests etc. And thats cool.
That said, I don't think there are actually less modelling directories now than there was, although they are perhaps less open- there were a few around that allowed direct contact with the models without the need for an account. I got in touch witha few be seen here models just via e mail.
Possibly they have been repalced a bit by twitter and facebook, which allows established models to advertise independently

Certainly as OEJ says porn has changed. From conversations over the years on shoots with well known models for most a significant part of their income was bookings from amateur / collector photographers.
Two factors are for many a reduction in disposable income and a change to webcamming rather than shoots.
I am 'old school' and don't use Facebook or Twitter. I can see that for established models these are good for posting when they will be on cam or TV shows. However unless someone can explain otherwise I don't see how these can work either for a model seeking shoots or a photographer seeking models if neither are on the others friends / followers list in the way that a casting call on AIR, PP or PS can.
I don't know about Madcow models but can say NM is generally useless. A major reason is anyone can put up a profile without vetting/approval. Often profiles are not completed with a few photos even if selfies or totally amateur plus a description of the work styles they seek, when they are generally available, facilities available, willingness to travel etc. The few that are active and serious will also on PP and/or PS.
Years ago I arranged some shoots either from a post here or responding to a models post about a cancellation / last minute availability but now very few models seem to look in let alone post.
Back 5 years ago I did 5 or 6 shoots but just one in each of the last two years. While I don't have the funds for 5 any more I would like to do a couple this year but feel the biggest issue will be finding reliable models who appeal to me ( girl next door look with at most a couple of discrete tatts and no boob implants ).

Which in this day and age with larger resolution cameras (And camera phones) means you'll be lucky to add a couple of images to your profile. Only those willing to spend time shrinking their images will have more than a couple of images on your port.
