Where do you all see porn going or where do you want to see it going ? Now that the tube sites have virtually made it impossible to make big money from producing, due to the fact that anyone can watch it - free on the all those types of sites. How would you like to get your wank fodder in the future ? Answers on a postcard please ???

Where things are going is pretty much where they're already at:
1. Supermarket network sites that offer a lot for a little and bring you the very latest beautiful models
2. Specialist sites that offer a little for a lot and deliver laser-focussed niche entertainment
3. 1-2-1 camming direct with the girls (the new porn)
4. Free porn
That's good for the punter and good for the girls, and much harder for independent producers who haven't got a foothold already. The majority of those niche stalls are already taken up by some very hardworking and creative minds.
It's also interesting to consider whether there'd actually be anything left for a new mainstream auteur director to come along and do with porn, even if the opportunities were still available in the way they were five years ago. So many producers for hire now have to work to a house style. If you track the timeline from the 60s, there was always a new kid on the block shooting things in a different way. The last stuff I saw that was a real step forward and had vision was Manuel Ferrara's POV stuff. I can't see anyone having the impact today that someone like Jules Jordan did 15 years ago.

They can stop making it tomorrow for all I care. There is enough free porn on the internet to last a lifetime, even for somebody who wanks around the clock.
Sorry to be blunt but that is the way things are now, like it or not.

Re: Question for all you punters or fellow producers !
I don't think that "traditional" formats of porn will still be around in a few years.... sorry but the technology involved has grown at such an exponential rate, anyone can go out and film a quick POV scene between themselves and their partner this morning (say a walk in the park turns into a quickie behind the bushes) and film it on their iPhone 5 or 5C/5S, run home and edit the footage on their laptop, and have a full 1080p video with decent quality audio uploaded and available to view/download before the football kicks off at 3pm.... and they can do the same over and over and over again for the next few months if they have a "daily" release schedule, gain enough fans on sites like YouPorn or Pornhub and they could have a decent enough fanbase to consider opening up a member's only site for their content....
porn videos come and go on a daily basis, but if people are talented at what they do, people will pay to view more and more, but the "old" formats of needing a full crew and a cameraman have gone by the wayside unfortunately, even TV production is slowly moving away from needing "skilled" cameramen given that news broadcasters especially are now looking at iPhones for journalists to capture the moments live, without the need to send out a full crew to capture the first look at major events like the flooding recently.....
I think that andy ide is right, porn will separate into a few camps:
1) network sites where you can sign up for a small amount, and have access to literally a lifetime's worth of content.... I'm a member of Brazzers/Videobox/Videos and between those 3 sites alone, there is more porn at my fingertips right now than I will ever need to watch again in my lifetime, so why spend more? (apart from if I'm genuinely interested in seeing a specific scene from another production company)
2) specialist/niche sites - they will always exist as long as there is a market willing to pay, but these will become more and more "underground" in the future as porn develops further, already companies like Evil Angel are releasing she-male videos (definitely something I don't want to see!) but that is a major US production company turning to a niche market for additional revenue... as time develops and people become less and less interested in "vanilla" porn, these niches may become bigger, but that's a long way off at the moment
3) camming - yep, already a big earner for the girls who get the punters, but the more saturated the market, the less money there is to go around them all.... even girls like Cate Harrington seems to have given up the daily promotion of her webcam shows, so either she's got bored of doing herself on a daily basis for not a lot of profit, or she's got enough of a regular (daily?) fanbase to know she doesn't need to promote her wares any longer, which I'd find really unlikely
4) free porn, and as Cuntybollocks alluded to, there is more out there right now than we will ever need to wank to in our natural lives.... yes there's always a market for new stuff, but I think the "new" future of porn is definitely more personally shot/owned content rather than traditional production companies being the only way of offering what the market wants to see.....

Apart from seeing condoms used in all US productions things are going to stay pretty much the same as it is now.
Large membership sites
Small niche sites
Live cams
and for those who want to steal content the tube sites/torrent sites

If it's shot, edited and promoted in a professional manner and isn't available free people will pay to see it. And if you have done your sums right you should make some profit, be it a little profit or a fortune!

I agree. The internet is flooded with free porn - and some still want more !!!
That attitude is playing right into the hands of those who want to ban legal porn altogether.

Hey Dave...
Cool question, one I will throw my 2 cents at... I didn't actually read other's replies yet, so not sure if I will repeat what any one else as said...
Firstly your right it's hard to make money from content, and websites... I was making more money from my websites 10 years ago with probably a 10th of the sites we have now. We recently partnered with a very big Canadian company in the hope they could market our sites better than we could, over a year on that as not been the case...
It's impossible for me to justify shooting new content for the sites at the current level of income, so alas a lot of them just have content that's rotating... if we shoot something that isn't exclusive for a client say and we can use the content ourselves then it will of course go onto any relevant sites we have...
Ironically we're launching a new program, with more niche end sites... we used to do solo model sites and as I said that's definitely become too hard a grind, so going to see what the niche stuff does for us... We was very lucky that a client we shot for allowed us to also hire girls for a few hours for us, and we shot this content for the new sites pretty much free...
We do have 2 or 3 good clients who still buy content for us, we're currently doing a project where we shoot 20 girls in a ex boyfriend (amateur style) we're currently working on the 2nd batch of 20 for them, and they are so pleased they have told us they will want 20 a month, even though think we may have to look outside of the UK as not sure the talent pool is enough...
I do agree tubes and file sharing/torrent sites are killing the industry, there is also so much competition nowadays... not sure how some of the companies make the big money, it used to be cross sales... sure they have some other tricks of the trade to get guys to still use their credit cards...
I also think the Saterlitte channels and online TV channels are killing things to some degree, and the likes of AdultWork for example, girls can earn so much without even leaving their house, I have spoke to girls who just ain't bothered with modelling anymore... or inflate their prices cause of what they can earn on webcam ect... but fair play to them I guess if I was a girl I would do the same lol !

People will pay for the right content. Not everything is available for free.
Hardcore: The big success of the last few years has been X-Art and its spawned a new genre/new approach/raised the bar interms of quality in Hardcore, which people are apparently happy to pay for.
Softcore: Still a decent market out there, particularly in niche's. Give the fans something they cant get elsewhere/cant get for free, they will pay.
Treat the paying customer with respect, deliver a good service and provide value for money and they will not only pay, they will stay.

I agree with your post except the bit where you say:
Give the fans something they cant get elsewhere/cant get for free, they will pay
Thats the point. They pay. Rinse you out by site ripping you and give the lot away and when you got multiple people doing it thats where the problem comes in paradise
Thats where stolen content comes from on tube sites.
Ok you get new sign ups who have seen and liked the content but making a point of what you have said is all
The key is to get enough sign ups to stay afloat
