I guess that was aimed at me so I will just add a bit of advice. Why not instead of an award list which is regarded more for it's comic value by most of the people I speak to at least why not do something of real value for the industry by shooting people and content that people actually want to see?

Hi Kim,

You say that there are 2,500 people producing porn in the UK. I actually think that there are a lot more than that, at least 2,501 including myself. lol.

I think that the amateur producers ( I'm not sure how you would define a producer in the amateur ranks ) are a massive behind the scenes operation all over the country, you yourself Kim knows this more than anybody else. I would say that the majority of pro producers were just camcorder guys to start out with and did not work for the major manufactures they just evolved as any business does.

On a personal note you have kindly given me help when I have emailed you in the past so thanks for that. I am now in my tenth year of shooting using good quality equipment. My last stock check showed that I have over 200 hours of tape and over 70,000 stills ( cost about ?150,000 most probably more ) available to me so it concerns me when some people jump to conclusions about others and call fellow togs " trolls " when in fact they are quite well informed about the UK porn industry, mainly through the models I may add, but informed none the less.

Just a thought but would there be any mileage in setting a UKAP prize for the best amateur scene submitted with the winner receiving coaching from the pro's of UKAP with a view to the amateur working himself into the pro ranks. I am sure that there is somebody out there who my be wanting to do just that but does not have a route in. Just a thought anyway.

As I put in my post that it looks like it's the same people as usual going to get the gongs at the end of the evening but that may well be because nobody else can be bothered to enter.

Gerry, you are right all the way in your observation. I and many others in UKAP started out just like you and it would be fair to say even the top end producers started the same way. In fact I would say the entire porn producing community started off the samme way as you

That said, UKAP has always welcomed anyone who is a producer whether they are amateur or professional. The criteria was mainly that they had to be published ie verified, because there were so many people trying to get in and take advantage of the parties by saying they were starting out and havent done anything yet so they could get to meet the girls and waste their time with the illusion of work that never happened.

Recently UKAP broadened its scope after the last meeting was so popular that we've divided the meeting in two parts for members and general because there were issues going on that were of interest to our business. We had over 60 people in attendance

When it comes to the awards we are also open to new categories if it has sponsors so yes we would welcome an Adult Work Award or even several in that category. Yes we would welcome a BGAFD Award, A Clips4Sale Award. I sponsored an award a couple years ago and I'm surprised that for all the criticisms of us winning our own awards that most of the usual winners are not even in UKAP!

I'll go one better Gerry, if you can prove youve had amateur work published and are in the business then i will invite you to the next meeting to see what goes down and even level your criticisms at us. I'm an amenable fellow and civiilised in dealing with constructive criticism

As for teaching and sharing information about production, you get all that and more just being a member of UKAP. Contrary to what people think, we dont hang out for beers or go to strip bars all days of the week and nor are we trying to control the business. We are trying to invigorate it, promote it because any action done is better than no action

We've had a presence at XBiz EU recently and are making contact with people we wouldnt have had if we were doing this as individuals.

Come see for yourself. If you want to help with the wards too then Im sure people wont mind either. A lot of work go on there that doesnt get recognised here.

In answer to the why of Viv Thomas products are not included is, with the exception of a few brit girls, Vivs range of work mainly consists of european girls and his crew are also mainly european therefore its not really UK. Having said that Im sure the offer wil be put to them next year if they choose to respond

If anyone is complaining that Lexi Lowe was not nominated then all I can say is that no one has nominated her. Thats not UKAP excluding her.
