Some good comments but I'd go further and say small subscription/fee-based traditional amateur-home-made looking web sites are pretty much dead on web in general not just porn. DVDs are dying rapidly so using a site as a front for selling personal disks is largely an ex-market too. Not totally impossible to make money but one hell of a lot of ongoing effort from models and site designer/manager.

Mobile ought to be a great opportunity but Apple and co. operate strict no porn policies so the app+website approach is a non-starter unless take the web-app root which needs real expertise and costs much more to develop a custom site than the traditional 'hey babe I can make you a crap website' deal.

I'm more positive for the future. E.g. if Adultwork moved to enable mobile-friendly personalized websites and disconnected porn hosting from the escort side there's a good business for them and opens up new opportunities for models and site designers, even for solo sites. If they don't surely someone will sooner or later.

Good points erotical except the Adult work theory as they have the market & with no one even close on their tail...why fix something that not broken, them and TAC have their own unique style which leaves the rest of us wondering how we could do something similar...
