Camera help

I've shot a couple of videos with my basic panasonic camcorder (?200's worth). I've had great experiences and I'm reasonably happy with the results. However I know the quality could be better. Any advice on what camera to buy
to achieve better picture quality would be greatly appreciated. In fact any advice at all.

Thanks for the reply, yeh I suppose I should've mentioned budget. Up to ?500 and I don't mind 2nd hand if from a trusted seller. I'm looking more for camcorder than camera. I like the idea of recording straight to SD card (easy and I know what I'm doing when it comes to playback), i'm not that teccy.

Any advice is welcome

You haven't stated the Panasonic model you have but the HDC-SD90 / HDC-TM90 with the 1/4" 3.3MP image sensor are a cut above most of the consumer range like HDC-SD40/60/80 particularly at indoor light levels.

The next step up is the HDC-SD900 / HDC-TM900 which you might find within your budget.

My camera isn't HD it's a Panasonic SDR-S50, it's ok in good light. To be fair I wasn't expecting miracles for ?200 but I don't want to spend ?1000's either. You've given me some food for thought, I'd not considered a hard drive.

PANASONIC HC-V500EB-K HD CAMCORDER
Argos Ebay shop = ?225

Certainly this is a step up from a SDR-S50 and good value at ?225 from a trusted supplier. However the sensor is 1.5MP so not full HD nor the best in indoor lighting.

For the same or a little more money the older HDC-SD90 / HDC-TM90 that has a 3.3MP sensor will produce a better picture particularly indoors. The TM has 16GB of memory built in.

From the current range the HC-V720 or its predecessor the HC-V700 have a larger higher resolution sensor.

There is a new sealed HC-V700 on eBay now at ?300 or ?400 with warranty.

The HC-V720 is just over ?500 on Amazon.
