AITA ADVISE ON HIV SCARE

AITA has heard this morning that a UK adult performer has had an initial positive test for HIV. This person is having a second test today to confirm. We call on producers and performers to do as follows:

1) Please suspend all shoots IMMEDIATELY, pending the results from the second test. Your health, the health of others and the potential future of your livelihood are all at stake.

2) If the result of the second test is positive, all shooting should be suspended while all performers are re-tested, particularly those performers who have worked directly or indirectly with the performer concerned.

3) All performers should use condoms with sexual partners while this process takes place to avoid any risk of further spread.

AITA will working to get the full information on the situation and advise as we have the fact's.

AITA is the trade association. We can hope that people will have some common sense... but in reality, who knows?

We've heard that several producers have frozen production for the time being, which is good news. If people want to be stupid outside the industry, that's their business really...

The thing is you should let us know if the performer used to travel a lot in Europe because as you know many person go to Budapest, Spain or Czech republic to work and it could be a bigger problem if he or she worked outside the UK.

I don't ask for the name of this person. I wish him or her good luck in this difficult time and he or she has my support.

I wish the performer the best of luck for the results of the second test.

I also hope that all performers, whether they escort or work in clubs/do parties or not go and get tested regardless of who they've worked with as it is peace of mind for me and my partner more than anything.

Tiffany, it could be a bigger scale than anybody fisrt thought depending on who this person has worked with.

I think this person coming 'out' will cause nothing but negativity and upset, whilst I'm not saying they shouldn't be known but in all honesty what do you think will happen if someone comes on here and says 'it's me who's HIV positive'!?!? The haters will jump on them and no doubt be very rude and nasty!

Girls who escort/work with non-professionals should be using protection for both penetration and oral and sticking to safe pop shots (boobs, stomach or feet) anyway - hiv scare or not.

But i think the reason for the email is very clear....
To inform us all of the situtaion so we can all stop working and get ourselfs checked out, yes we lose alot of money if we shut down for 3 months but the alternative could mean losing our lifes - we need to limit the victims now.

Totally agree with Trinity - the haters & anti porn activists would have a field day sending nasty emails if his/her name becomes public knowledge,

They have done the right thing by asking Paul to inform us all of the problem and the email did say that the clinic would contact those individuals who have worked with him/her,
he/she has done all they can so lets give them some respect & privacy.

Will AITA now be pushing for condoms to be used in UK porn all the time after this scare, we have fetched this up before only for fellow producers to laugh at the idea.
