Today i had a visit from fraud investigation team for HMS customs, tax & benefit etc.
After being shown their badges they proceeded to inform me about all my dealings on Adult Work (knowing more than i did including the make & reg of my car), i had to show them my books, tax number, permission from my landlord (local council) & they had print offs of all all my emails on AW.
It could be someone hoping i was doing something illegal & shopped me or it could be true that they are systematically going through all the people on AW.

They went away a bit pissed as everything including my landlords permission to make films on the property was in order, be careful & delete old emails on your profile if you are sailing close to the wind as these guys mean business.

We did say that their intelligence should be checked before they wasted peoples time in future but it fell on deaf ears.

Wow does sound like sombodies got an axe to grind with you Kim.
But I do seem to recall about a year ago hearing the government where gonna look at sites like adultwork in more detail.This could be the start of it.

The investigators today tried every angle to find something but it was the fact they could read our AW mail that did worry us even though we had nothing incriminating, They did say they were checking AW profiles & ours was a random visit so we'll never know.

There was something on Purestorm a while ago about the tax side of things with regard to model's/photographer's earnings as obiviously a lot is cash and goes undeclared. Somebody posted a link to an article about the IR having some computer/software that would be able to scan websites/e-mails etc and checking any references to making money to your tax return. I did wonder how it would work with so many people using aliases. Obviously easier than I thought. Must be doing the job if from your profile they can find out your real name, IP address and home address. Unless, as you say, it was a tip off.

I cant stress more the need to pay your taxes. It makes the difference in the event you get raided, which I did over a decade ago. They gave me the cash back they found bu tmade a note of it, probably because they saw my tax return forms..By sheer coincidence

I'm not on adult work but thst shouldnt prevent them paying a visit I'm sure.

Streamate which is the adultwork in the US - just got busted and now they have all models filling out tax forms as they log in. So I think after streamate they started to go after Adultwork.

I agree with OEJ - always pay your taxes.
