YouTube are okay (?) because one of the boxes you have to tick to be eligible for this catastrophic piece of legislation is that your site has to be one where you have editorial control. As I understand this from listening to the audio clip on the whole affair is that since YouTube do NOT decide what is 'broadcast' then they are exempt.

I find this incredible though (not because YouTube do NOT have editorial control because any idiot knows that they DO!!!) butbecause what is actually being said is that if you have a site where anyone can post anything and and that you choose NOT to regulate it then it's all right!!!

Who thought that up then?
Basically if I open a video forum and turn a blind-eye to Nazi, racist propaganda then I somehow do not need to be regulated!

Something tells me that this piece of odd and seemingly unnecessary small-print would have been superfluous to ATVOD's needs except that it would have meant that they would have had to go after people like YouTube who may well have offices within British jurisdiction... but then YouTube are far too big and powerful and it's much better to write some nonsensical clause into the regs.

I hope this is useful.

Not quite sure what your problem is here?

Firstly: I did say "just about the last industry in the UK" so I concede that there are some left. You are free to post a list of the remaining truly British industries that still exist if you like.

Secondly: "The rest of the world manages quite ok without porn ya know!" Again, feel free to list all the countries you know that are either doing well or somehow have managed to remain unaware of porn.

Thirdly: You sound more like someone who is campaigning for us all to be shut down rather than a porn model who makes her living getting naked and performing sex acts on camera. If you think that this country would be better off without porn then you are free to say so but you do seem to have chosen an odd profession.

Lastly: 'get over myself?' I never put myself in the equation!?? I never said that it was wholly MY OWN industry... so why attack me? I happen to be talking about YOUR industry - or had you not noticed what it is you do for a living?

Frankly the tone of your post is so cold and angry that I can only assume that this is more of a personal attack on me and that I could have been extolling the virtues of breathing in and out and you would have said I was talking bollocks.
If you actually take the time to read the replies here you might notice that although my OP was a little over-stated it did what it was supposed to do and that is to start a sensible dialogue here that might draw attention to something rather important that is happening in the industry that pays you (at least some) of your income.
If you find that a problem then it's a bit like complaining about someone's diction when they shout for you to get out of the way of a runaway lorry.

I tell you what Daz, this thread is easy peasy compared to what I had to endure with insults over at The Beerand Bollocks forum

Dont go there man, its like Brixton was to white people in the 80's!!!

There I went, bringing the message to the natives and they cut my head off, lopped it off clean they did, then pulled my tongue out, my eyes...Pulling my arms out the sockets like ravenous cannibals they were...

BEER & WANKERS!

Post by Daz Savage »

Hi mate.
Don't get me started on B&B!
There were supposed to be a couple of people from there at the UKAP party on Friday. I spent much of the night loudly mentioning and yet it's funny how none of that clique wanted to approach me and talk to me the way they do on that horrid little forum. Maybe they just didn't realize it was me and would have loved to call me a silly cunt to my face (for no understandable reason)... Or maybe it's what my old partner Aaron said after the first time he met me... That with the exception of one person he'd met from B&B (who actually happened to be you - and you'd always been totally cool on the forum) everyone else in the inner clique (who love to gang-up and jump on people) is nothing more than a nerdy keyboard warrior... who just might baulk at the prospect of needlessly insulting a 15 stone MMA trainer. hmmmm?

Any member of the B&B clique is welcome to add to this.
And just in case you think I'm being touchy - my ex partner has a severe curvature of the spine and is in effect disabled because of it - oh how they love to bully him and take the piss out of him, saying "Don't take the hump" etc.

I FUCKING DARE YOU!

Its the war zone of forums if ever there was one but some good did come out of it through a personal email so it wasnt a complete waste of time.

Mind you, I've been told its popularity is waning. I cant think why !happy!

I find the kind of people that are unnecessarily rude resent everyone else for doing better than them.

Kind of like film critics..But, much much nastier!

Great entertainment if people like that sort of thing though

The new system is designed to deal with people who deliver "TV like" material via the Net and where there is "editorial control".

So video paysites are covered. In fact I read the docs and it seems that even free sites have to pay.

Fees

These rules are so encompassing that thousdands of hobby sites and blogs are all covered. Nothing to do with adult, but that will produce a backlash and probably mean that fees will be nil to very low for sites witrh low turnovers.

Suggestion guys - go out and find political blogs with video and point out that they will have to register and pay :-)

I still love performing and shooting, and always happy to help people make porn. Esp if tittivation.com will be an outlet :-)
