No. Not really.

He's more puritanical than Straw but seems to have his priorities right. Crime and drugs. Both unwinnable battles that should keep him occupied!

Heard to-day that he's to give the police extra powers to monitor the net to catch paedophiles?

a crack down on paedophiles would be the perfect vehicle for pushing through repressive legislation.

how many mp's would have the guts or intelligence to take a principled stand, in defence of freedom of expression between consenting adults, at the risk of being labelled a friend to child abusers?

watch him like a hawk!

As long as everyone is sensible, I think the liberalisation we have seen over the last few months will continue. David Blunkett will have many more important things to do than worry about an easing of the rules on porn.

Touch wood, but I think it's good news all round.

You've hit the nail on the head. Paedophiles, drug dealers, terrorists and the like are simply the bogeymen they (the establishment) need to justify spying on you, eroding your basic freedom, keeping you in your place and themselves in power. Don't stand for it.
