Anyone know anything about webuyanycontent.com?
They may be wonderful but I haven't heard much from them since they first appeared hear last year and although their site is now functional I can't see any refs, recomendations or guarantees of what they do with material that they get sent but then do not actually buy (either because they decline it or they offer too small a sum).

Anyone with anything to share will be welcomed.

We're still around

the front end of our site is completely up and running we're just putting a few finishing touches to the backend (best to get it right 1st time) Thats why we're not pushing it more.

We did enitially look to purchase content before fully launching, though a lot of what we were sent was well below par (in some cases material so bad the producer couldn't even use it) or we had a load of e-mails saying I have the best content ever made...how much will you give me without seeing it.

we are still looking to buy but we only buy well made material and that we have had the chance to fully inspect.

I am still wondering if you can answer my specific questions though.
I am happy to try you out but there will always be the issue of what is going to be done with watermark-free material that you end up with that I choose not to sell.
I am sure that viewing a sample range from a set would be enough to see if the content was usable.
I appreciate that you are wanting to safeguard your business but then so does everyone else.

I think I understand the question

''what happens to the material you sent to us, if you chose not to sell it for the price we offer'' am I right?

if so, any material sent to us is still copyrighted to the photographer who took it (or who ever owns the copyright). we send you some paper work, after all has been agreed, signed and returned to us then the sale is complete, only then is the material ours in anyway.

the reason we don't accept spec photos is because 5 photos (tho most sent us 1 or 2) do not make a complete set.

so in summary, until you have signed our paperwork no copyright is transfered and therefore it would be ilegal for us to use/sell the material in anyway.

If you sell your copyright, that's it. Gone. You can't ever make any money from it ever again. They control it.

Selling a licence is different - you still own the copyright and can make more sales (provided they don't breach any agreement with someone you sold to before).

So I might sell (licence) a scene to Playboy for X, Mayfair for Y and then put it on my own site as well.

But if Playboy buys my copyright, I can't sell to Mayfair or put it on my site.

Basically my licences are affordable and my copyrights are expensive.

Personally I think for exclusive rights, what you are offering wouldnt meet most peoples costs paying to make it in the first place
