How did you get on in the end babe - any joy?

Windows 7 - the dad has just got a new Vaio thing with it on, still in the process of learning how to use it myself but DEFO better than Vista - what a load of crap that is lol (and its on my laptop - grr)!

Let me know if you managed to sort it - loving the feedback lol x

Possibilities

1) Your camera is possibly configurable to output in a different format, (or possibly record in one, not that that will help with stuff you already have).

2) Look at online video editing - e.g. jaycut.com (though if everything has to be uploaded, SLoooowwwwwww)

3) Use this as an opportunity to grab some really good software on free 30 day trial. Sony Vegas perhaps. Obviously needs to be one that doesn't watermark everything.

4) Quicktime Pro for windows is ?20.

Cheers

Hi masie

Jim here, I was curious which camera uses the.mov file extension, is it the Flip that you had at the TVX party?

Have you updated your Movie maker? From what you say, it sounds more like a filing problem that whether its .wmv or .mov

When you converted your .mov to .wmv were you able to play it back through Windows Media Player? also are your .mov files playing back normall as well?

So you are using a stills camera in the "Movie" mode? So It could be a very large HD .mov file. Unlike .wmv, you can get all sorts of different variations on .mov. For example a .mov file of 60seconds could be in mg/bts or in g/bts.

You'll have to convert it to an acceptable AVI file and in a size which is correct for your purposes and also works in Windows Movie Maker.

Good luck.

If its any consolation, I have to work to broadcast specs on a Mac and it can be a nightmare at times. So just persevere you'll get there in the end!

I think you'll find your flip camcorder seems to work with everything, mine does. I think its because it films in mpg4, which Macs and PC's both seem to like.

Masie

You've got mail - probably loads...but one from me to.

From what I've been able to find on the net, the EOS 7d video use H264 compression for the video and the audio is uncompressed Linear PCM in a *.mov wrapper/container.

So, I've sent a fairly verbose email saying how I deal with H264 files - which normally are a bit tough on the PC CPU.
