Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
I think condoms are a good idea having thought about it.
However since there is a good deal of opposition within the industry I beleive an AIM style organisation would be a good idea.
I think it may be possible to open a data base and allow the information to be published.
Data Protection allows for public release of information when a person agrees to it and or there is a legitimate reason.
If the performer etc signs a release then there should be no reason not to release the information.
However that of course would need to be examined by a solicitor.

Lets not forget, UKAP has no responsibiltiy for what happens in the US and it is down to ever individual performer to help make an AIM like iniitiative possible.
Yes you are right Terry its not responsibiltiy of the ukap for what happens in the US .
I am sorry Terry I have lost faith in the ukap please see my thread.
And please see my other thread

Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
Great posts Terry, I'm relatively new to producing and have yet to shoot boy/girl content. But should you need it, you have my support.
Sometimes it scares me how disorganised the UK industry is, I think UKAP and the XBIZ London Gatherings are doing their bit and pushing for a better (safer as well as profitable) industry here but I see lots of people, the big companies, some performers among them who just aren't as bothered as they are.
I seem to remember a documentary ages ago about the Traci Lords saga back in the day, a quote always stuck with from that "we started regulating ourselves before someone else waded in to regulate us."
I think also that in the US, given that it is a larger industry, a lot more people seem to actually care about survival of the industry.

Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
Ok bgafdfan, now youve calmed down a bit.
To the best of my knowledge, the whole idea of people nominating their favourite girls was deliberatly to make it a peoples choice. Not one of the producers or members of UKAP.
We all know the politics involved with such things and I for one can't stomach the politics of how these things are done when they can be done simply and honestly.
If Betty from Southend on Sea was a geriatric granny and won it because she was popular then so be it.
You the people have decided that.
Please do not judge a whole association on something that is ultimately meant to be fun because you will miss the point of more serious things UKAP are trying to achieve.
The awards is just a nice way of saying we arent serious and po faced about business all the time.
If it makes you feel better we are concerned about things not because its about the good of the industry but by making it better for everyone makes it better for ourselves and our business if no one can grasp why we are trying to be do gooders.
Most of us make our living at this business as a full time occupation therefeore it makes sense we would like to see the business run in such a way as mybeautifultease quite rightly pointed out "so we can regulate ourselves rather than have it regulated for us" and have a united front inthe event some legislation comes in and have some other body of the industry dictate it for us.
We are not trying to control the business. That is an impossible task within itself so please understand if I dont take your vote as serious as other concerns we have.
There are a few categories that have been left out and one would be the amateur category. This will be rectified as time goes on but if we started including more categories it would be a lot bigger than we expected and thats when a lot more problems come with it because there are those who take the award winning more serious than the fun and sincere acceptance among peers than its intended to be.
I for one deliberately didnt enter this year fully aware of how it would look if I did win.
Also whoever you voted for may have not been voted by anyone else or many people compared to other girls which is a big reason as to why they may have not been mentioned.
As I said, please do not lose faith in UKAP because of this matter as I consider it rather trivial in the grand scheme of things

Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
I think I answered yourt question somewhere in my post but the list could be endless if we had a BBW category, we could have a MILF, a teeny, a 20 something and the awards could drag onfor hours and cost millions and need to be televised like the oscars to warrant that expense.
Then people will want an old man category.
Best DILF, best abs and big cock category (ok im getting silly now) but do you see my point? We would have to consider not alienating everyone else by including gat, alternative, transexual.
However, that is an idea. We could get those who specialise in BBWs to sponsor it perhaps and please dont suggest we have anyhting against BBWs because we hav eplenty around we know and love who ccould win something from other categories

Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
Hi Terry.
Thanks for your views on this. I argee at this time it may make it too many categories.
However do all the ukap members use Bad Language...? thats a name I won't be called.
The idea of a forum is surely to get your ideas & views a cross to others.
But it would seem other's don't think so...
Not having a go at you or the ukap but I won't be called names.
Thank you Terry.!bow!

Re: Has the HIV crisis reached the UK industry??
I had intended working out in L.A again at the end of September however wasn't able to obtain the correct paperwork in order to be able to so i stayed for just over a week for a holiday but got tested at AIM anyway which thank God came back all negative.
I had only been home a week when this HIV story came about, was so scary to think of what could have happened should i have been able to work! Fate springs to mind! !shocked!
Anyhow, what concerns me is American performers that have worked over here recently.
Does anybody know if there have been any American performers working with UK stars over here in our studios?
Best Wishes
