Looking for help...

Post by Whiteduke »

Hi to everyone at BGAFD

I'm the head of marketing at playboytv and the adult channel - just wanting to be honest with you all up front. I know that a number of staff members have used this site in the past to get opinion and feedback from our core audience, and i'm hoping to do the same.

We launched a new website today www.adultchannelclub.com which is providing hardcore streaming and exclusive XXX shoots of our presenters etc.

At the moment the site is in a beta testing stage, i am really interested in your collective opinions on the site, what you would like to see more/less of and if there is anything that we have missed out.

Thanks in advance for your comments, and be as ruthless as you like, i can take critisim on the chin.

Cheers

R
George

If you click on join, you will be invited to download a rather suspicious looking executable file which will probably dial strange foreign numbers and run up a huge bill.
No honest site does ths sort of thing.
Avoid this like the plague.

George,

Surely dialler technology is common place in the adult industry? Are there still negative connotations with using them - they are standard dialler technolgy overseen by ICTIS meaning a maximum of ?1.50 per minute cost?

Also the diallers are not the most cost effective way to access the content.

Diallers used to be commonplace on rip-off sites; now they are a bit of an anachronism. Strangely, people object to paying ?90.00 an hour to access a site. Why don't you just use Paypal or CCBILL, and charge $10.00 a month?

And broadband users can't connect with diallers anyway.

I concur with George, a dialler placed in your registry, can incur a bill of ?90 plus vat, just for an hour, it,s a sneaky way of earning huge amount of cash, should anyone be stupid enough to down load it, the problem is, some people are!(not totally stupid) just niave, and dont even know thet have done it.
In my book it,s a incidious piece of technology that should be outlawed, and any site using one should be given a very wide berth, or worse.

Ok - well this is indeed a learning curve for me. There are other ways to access the content, through iBill and premium rate SMS.

Is it a general feeling that this is not obvious enough on the site, and that we should be downgrading the dialler option and pushing the more respectable CC and DD options?

And please - keep this coming, if i cant convince you guys to use the site - i cant convince anyone.

ok whiteduke, can I first of all say very unhappy about the dialler software for membership, anybody that installs this on their site, has the sole purpose of making the most profit, in the shortest time span, ie ripping the customer off. I believe if you are going to run a long-term site you will have to just ask for a membership fee and be content with that, and secondly anybody who has a dialler on their site certainly knows the time of day - so I wouldn?t come over all coy with the common practice shit, run by a reputable firm.

Crofter - fair point well made. Just to let you know the designers are already working on a re-worked front page, taking the dialler off it!

See - you have made a differance!
