Hey girl you sound like you've had a really shit time in the biz so far. Ive been hearing a lot of the things you have mentioned.

As much as I like to think I am not associated with that side of the biz I know that there is no avoiding the guilty by association by the mere fact we are in the porn biz which probably accounts for why I rail on about the kind of people you are describing.

Thing is i dont even know those people you talk to by name, they are merely phantoms to me.

Nor would I purport everyone I know in the biz to be saints either but regular known producers know they cannot afford to have a shit name in the business but some will trip up from time to time and this recession has had a lot of people running for cover where they can.

Just sorry to hear you having bad experiences in a business that should be about fun, good times and good shags.

I wonder how many good girls are falling to the wayside to those people you describe?

Absolutely the Saddest part to this is i know Samara came into the biz so open,so full of enthusiasm and really prepared to put the time and effort in,and the amount of travelling she did was bloody awesum...Ive only had good experiences to date,so im like the polar opposite to where Samara is, but i still find it a shame.......

i have read all the posts on this thread, and to be honest, find it very hard to disagree with anyone.
it really is a double edged sword, and speaking from my own experience, you have to put your money where your mouth is in order to get your foot through the door, so to speak.
if you can perform, and do whatever it is that needs doing, then you have nothing to worry about, if not then off home with a bruised ego.
its difficult enough for guys to break into this industry as it is, but this is the way of it, at the end of the day if you cant you cant lay bricks then no one is going to give you a job as a builder.
we can all argue the toss, but it really does boil down to it is what it is.

Thanks for all the replies.

Like I said, I was happy to contribute towards the whole thing in return for copyright of said film, like Paul said he would act as director only.

However what I didn't like was when I was told "you have to pay ?500+ for the shoot and I will keep it to publish on ... if it's any good".

I think I'll stick to doing what I have been doing for a while and enjoying that than spend ?500 upon someone who's gonna use my for their own profit

Amateur male - professional in outlook : met the likes of Carmen Moore, Stella Cox, Renee Richards, Tamara Grace, Tiffany Kingston, Loz Lorrimar - all of film :)

Harry has said that the producers have asked him to pay for the costs & then have the copyright.

It should at least be shared copyright for Harry to do something with also?

Unless you're the producer of the shoot as well as the performer and keep all the copyright then you shouldn't put a penny towards the shoot! Theres a term for people that do that, there called "suckers"!

Everytime a guy pays to do a shoot then he is undermining the business and helps to set up a situation whereby it becomes acceptable that guys to pay to work! No one should pay to work!

I don't get producers that would even consider this, as someones looks and ability to perform dosn't match thier bank balance! Just because someone can afford to bankroll the shoot, can't compensate if they are fat, bald and ugly! So you would end up with secound rate content! Whats the point of that! Who wants to see some fat ugly guy slobbering over some girl? Its better to to get the right guy and girl.

Why I'm on the subject of the right guy, I am still surprised to see at lot of ugly guys in UK porn! (This is why I only do B/G with one good looking guy I know!) I know how many of them get into the shoots....they pay or own the site! But producers shouldn't use them even if they can pay, and if they own the site, they should be realistic enough to realise they don't have the looks and either go to the gym and get in shape or if they are really bad get some plastic surguery before they start or bett still stay behind the camrea!
