Storm Im sure the charge will not be as much. You have to distinguish the scale in price between private clinics and the NHS will be very different.

Gymstud asks what the clinics will do with the ?125? Well if you have to ask that you really havent been paying attention. Read through the thread and figure it out because we've been over this a year ago and it sounds like we are a broken record on this now.

There is a set up cost for investing in this and they just want to recoup that investment.

I was going to be my usual polite self on this, but at the moment I cant be fucked.

So here is a rough breakdown...

I have spent nearly 5 months working on this, here is an overview of what I have done so far.

I have met with NHS PCTS in London 4 times, sheffield, Mansfield, Bristol, Newcastle. As of yesterday, I have been contacted by six others who I will be meeting with throughout January and February. Met with private STD clinics is London, Manchester etc.

Spent stupid amounts of hours on the phone, email and internet

I have paid 40% upfront to the webdesigner and database software guy that are currently working on this

I have regsitered 6 domains and paid for one years hosting.

A 128bit SSL certificate is already on the site.

So as a rough guess, this project ows me around ?8 - 10K already. That doesnt include ongoing running costs - I wont run itself.

I know this post is unprofessional of me, but having read other peoples comments on other threads, two more points wont hurt.

1. This will be optional - If you dont want to join. DONT. I dont care.

2. You dont work for free and nor do I.

Lots of people have talked about doing this for a long time. Talk is cheap. So if you want to build a better or rival system - carry on.

No one has forced you to take this on.

Quite frankly, I don't think may people reading this post will care how much you have spent on this, it's your business not ours.

To recover these costs that you go on about you will probably have to charge legitimate producers a fee to view certs online.

Lets see how far that goes.

Come on gents....Theres no need for all this. UKAP are showing thei support and thank Clinic Express for taking the initiative. We can bitch and bitch some more but the reral issue is, its finally here. Change.

I respect anyone who has big brass cajones and I dont care whether it is about profit because i dont expect charity in this business...and given the Terence Higgins Trust blanked us as well (because believe it or not even charities are about profit too) and I dont blame them given that we are all about fucking multiple partners month in and month out. Can you really blame the clinics for taking the attitude they are. We are high risk by the very nature of our business. the main reason people go private rather than NHS is because it is that. private. Your records are not disclosed to insurance companies who would question why you get tested every month and woe betide you say your note gay and do porn to them you might as well be rent boys doing it bareback!

The porn industry was set up for profit and the fact there are people expecting free hand outs from the medical quarter I do find reprehensible.

This rant doesnt include people like Kim because i think the amateur sector/ part time dabblers are excused...as long as they dont get upset that people who work under this new scheme wont work outside of it (and frankly its up to them if they do but then at the discretion of who they work with as well)...You cant mix unleaded with diesel right?

Finally we have an opportunity to swing things around and reduce fake certs and a much for efficient way wo isolate cases if they should happen.

We should all be supporting it and soem members of UKAP are doing so by offering ?20 on top to those who participate in this scheme. If models work for producers this way they can effectively get their money back!

I can say with confidence that the big comnpanies who are not members will agree to this and motions will be made to the satellite sector as well.

The clinics are right, us producers should be instrumental in that change and maybe we can get the rest of the industry to participate by showing their support for this scheme as well

My one grumble is that Clinic Express brought it on themselves by just posting on here. I done that too and got pelted as well but at least now I know who my friends and enemies are because of it and by that I mean the stupid wankers that tried to impede progress because they feared a producers association trying to do something good was going to fuck their game up getting a leg over.

This is bigger than you. Show a bit of responsibility and stop tapping on the NHS resources! Their system is not conducive to the adult industry and nor do they care. Why should they?

They are the ones that will pick up the bill if something should happen, so yes, I am sure they do care.

Pick up the bill if what should happen JNB?

The NHS are worse with regards what you might be suggesting and their databases are always being compromised because they are always under so much pressure, cut backs etc

If anything did happen then it wouldnt hold water in court if porn stars are involved. people who live their lives andprofit by having sex.

I cant see a judge ruling in favour unless the clinic was proved to be negliggent in its practice and in they are at least professional in that area anyway.

Terry, the NHS will pick up the bill if an outbreak occurred, so yes, I think they have an interest in what is happening here.

Like I said, I am not against this scheme, but i am only for it if a responsible party is going to run it.

My idea of a charity has received little response, one infact and that was negative, I wonder if the Terrrence Higgins Trust was turned down by the charities commission?

James, UKAP explored that option with the Terence Higgins Trust. There was no guarantee it ever happening and required a lot of running around and would have taken up to a year and because there was lack of support from the potential users, the models it fell flat on its face.

It had to be guaranted users of the scheme for it to work. Producers can only do so much and it seems the model aspect of this business is the most fractured now as there is no solidarity or spokesperson representing them.

The NHS will not pick up the tab for any outbreak whatsoever.

If you are talking treatment then its the same old same. They would have doen it anyway but when we spoke to someone about faking certs under their logo they were evasive.

The NHS dont have to pick up the tab on anyhting and its the porn industry that will come under scrutiny.

They are a service as well and anyhting outside of what they do normally must be agreed and sanctioned but how can it be when there are so many people who reamin faceless and wont get involved.
