I am open to suggestions on this... But so far I have had various comments on this.

If anyone logs in as a producer how do we know that they actually are? Does is matter anyway if their not? There will be no personal data on the site.

Everyone has a different suggestion so we're all keen to find a happy medium.

For what its worth, I think it's a great idea and why in hell there seems to be such objection is beyond me.

You will still get your paper cert, unless everyone agrees otherwise - which is highly unlikley.

Secondly; this scheme will eventually include the NHS. Thats why this is different.

An online certs scheme from just one clinic is no good (anyone can do that) , it will need to be all (or at least most) across the country. Thats whats taking time.

The scheme will be voluntary, you dont need to join.

Thats exactly how it would be Emma.

I think if the model issues permission to producers is the best way. Rather than a producer who doesnt book the model just having a nosey because they can may leave it open to abuse ie if a model is flagged as negative then producers possibly making it public would be a severe abuse of the system.

Im sure Clinic express have that bit licked though

Consider it done...

Performers will have a 'list' of producers that can view their status. This can be altered at anytime.

I think one of the main issues will still be cost. Although there will be a lot of performers who agree it's a good idea in theory, the reality might be somewhat different.

As times are currently hard, I would imagine these are the times when people wrongly cut corners. I know of a few models who are extremely hard up right now, with little work. If they get offered work and have to be certed, it becomes a point that having to pay for the certs to be done is going to effectively mean that the money for the shoot has gone straight away. If it's going to be a higher cost after the 3 month period to use the online system, I suspect the uptake won't be great. There are only really a few performers that are working week after week where this extra fee won't be a problem.

Although it's not my business and I may be speaking out of turn but I would be looking at it the other way. Gaining a monopoly in a sense. Undercutting every other clinic's rates and offering the online service for free. Then you may find the take up is far larger and it becomes the norm. It can then be reassessed when the service is seen to being successful and is industry standard. Also I wonder whether it also might make sense if there was also a discounted rate for paying for tests in advance. i.e. ?500 for a year's testing at the same clinic, 1 test a month. You would then get a larger initial income, the performers are tied to you and with all these things, not everyone will have a test every month, so it might actually work out to your advantage.

Hi,

You make some very good points and I agree with most of them. However, I have not decided to set-up this online certs site to make a hugh amount of money (if any at all).

I am already seriously out of pocket on this and if it works - then fine. If not then I am not really bothered. As I have already stated - I was asked to do this by performers that come to my clinic. And its not worth having just one or two clinics participating. Hence my meetings over the last few months in London, Mansfield, Newcastle and Sheffield NHS PCTs.

Taking into account some of the very negative feedback I have had, it wish I had not bothered.

If I can, I will keep it free and generate the money to pay for the site by other means including web-advertising and by increasing awareness of my Clinic in Bristol, As you have stated, but its not viable for everyone to travel to Bristol

Regarding the cost of STD Certs, there is very little profit in what we charge (?125) we rely on the fact that the performer is a regular.

I know times are hard - my sexual health clinic is not my only business, this is and will be a deep and long recession and in my opinion (which is usually right) its not even started yet.

Thanks

Yep I know what you mean there but here we stand and UKAP are supportive of your scheme. We were pleased but surprised that it just suddenly popped up with no warning.

I fear the problem may well be the model contingent not being supportive as Beck Images has said but we are also privy to the costings of these tests and I for one cannot see how free will work at all.

The way I see it this service is costing someone somewhere and dont really think the service should be available for free but also recognise there is not enough work to warrant paying for tests.

Therefore I wonder if there was support en mass that the costs of these tests could be done at a rate acceptable for regular use?

Again this is really down to the models whether it will work or not and therein lies the uncertainty
