I have worked with prostitutes and hardcore models and i can tell you the ONLY difference is the individuals mindset.

You get slappers in both jobs (A "common whore" is a slapper - see Jessica Rider's delightful comments). You also get classy prostitutes as well as models (none of us fall into the "common whore" catagory because we all have more class than that!) but we can count Jessica Rider out here as her comments on the OT forum prove she has no class.

Some hardcore models look down on prostitutes. They think they are better because they have the tag "model" and sometimes impose self-set limits. What they dont understand is that prostitues impose limits too. However i can assure you both are having sex for money (as per the definition of prostitute). Like i say, its just the state of mind thats the difference.

The real scum are those that think they are better than prostitutes and look down on prostitutes. Thats a nasty personal trait based on nothing more than personal limits, and snobbery of a job title.... And im afraid to say its some hardcore models that do this so they should be the ones to have a derrogatory term applied to them.

Intertestingly a model and escort was in the news near us lately. The police released a statement that she was a prostitute, no mention at all of her hardcore modelling work.

I prefer to agree with Lindsey. The inference that being referred to as common whore in someway lessens a pornstars moral credibility is both laughable and offensive to hard working prostitutes.

I know of lots of instances where 'girls' are treated like trash by producers and still return for more work. Why? Because they need the money. Just like prostitutes.

Everyone has the right to earn a buck the best way they see fit.

I think there are similarities in both jobs of course as both involve sex and yes porn is about making men cum. Probably most of them will be wanking at home watching. Pornstars are performers and are making a product to sell and they are involved in film making.

I think that the fact that 'mind set' keeps being brought up is very important. Both sets of women sell their bodies for money and this can cause obvious problems within our individual morals, relationships and state of mind.

I personaly put a great deal of emphasis on production values and the filming process both because I have a passion for this and because it allows me to keep an important part of myself seperate for my partner Wil. We personally agree that where there is a gain beyound an individuals personal gratification ie a film is being made that is work. If I slept with someone without this, for us, that would be cheating.

I love my job and through expereince have tailered it to fit with what I am comfortable with. The title 'Porn star' is part of that well being for me. As I have already said I have no problem with what other women do and in many ways am envious of their abilitie to do what I can not, as extra cash would be lovely (more vets bills). I understand fully the arguments that we are basicaly all the same but I personally see a difference and there fore, for me there is one. We all deal in an industry that depends on people having different sexual makeup, half of us would be fucked if peopel suddenly all conformed to only liking footfetish etc, so why cant we all have a differnt opinion in this and be right?

The only thing I have actually found in anyway offensive through this post is Benson harping on about us all doing it for money. I had an office job before I got into porn and I earned alot more than I do now, therefore I must be in this job for a motivation that is not financial. I do this job because I love porn, I like watching films and trying new things within them and knowing that I am part of somthing, its not because I have rent to pay, I have a second job that sorts that out, porn is for pleasure and this allows me to stick to my morals whether people see them as real or not.

If someone wants to be a prostitute its up to them. If someone wants to be a pornstar thats also up to them without people trying to be abusive and then seeing if girls will still work for them? Your obviously getting a sick thrill from trying to wind girls up but then isnt that what the adult industry is all about? Sure I'm a pimp. Of sorts. But I can still be a creative pimp. I have very little morality so I don't have much of a problem with 'names'.

Not offended at all!
I bought a Panasonic AG-41E in the end. I got a good price brand new with a few extras thrown in too. The picture is great, it is lightweight and it also looks the part so at least I won't look like a chump with a handicam when I turn up for a shoot
