Yes... which would make this forum illegal if people were offering sexual services for money here. Payment for sex may well exist in a grey area of UK law but 'touting' for business or providing any facility for the operation or promotion of prostitution certainly does not.

Thanks for proving my point by explaining why these activities are banned from forums like this.

I make no comment as to the hypocritical nature of the law... my point was simply to explain why boards cannot allow the promotion of these business practices and therefore have to 'frown' upon them. The law may well be wrong on these issues as it frequently is on many others but you were talking about the supposed hypocritical nature of the forum and it's members. The forum (and members) are not being hypocritical at all - just remaining well within the law when dealing with adult performances versus prostitution.

Frankly I have no problem with prostitution - I don't use the services of any prostitutes but can see the logic in certain (but not all) arguments in support of it. However I prefer to keep prostitution and porn separate.
This is not to say that the same person can't work in both fields. But if a porn performer works as an escort too then it is (to me) no different than a checkout girl working part-time behind a bar... The same person doing more than one job in different fields. You can't assume that any two jobs are in the in the same industry just because aspects of them are similar and they are done by the same person..

Personally I take no moral high-ground at all because I frankly I can't.
I consider myself to be less moral than most because I am honest about my own reality. Hey, I work in porn so obviously I'm in the gutter - right? To most ordinary people we're like farmhands covered in manure arguing about who smells the worst.
That said, I will stand my ground on keeping within the laws, the rules of any particular forum and 'best-practices' for the safe, sensible and appropriate promotion of what I do.
But this has nothing to do with moral high-ground at all.

If a studio offers multiply cameramen the chance to photograph a model etc & charges them it could fall foul of the law if sex is involved (soft core with no third party is fine), if the ammount they recieve exceeds the amount to pay a model & cover venue costs as the law thinks of it as immoral earnings. its the same if its a swingers party or a bukkake/gang bang where people are charged as its all immoral earnings, none of us in the sex industry are look on kindly by the law as we are all the same to them.
I don't think anyone as ever touted for business on this forum (i could be wrong) but over the years we have worked & made friends with lots of people who make films, escort & do parties & i can honestly say they enriched our understanding of the industry.

You all make interesting points. So where do the lines or borders to cross belong.
If I was to say I am looking for a model to do a POV shoot with an am photgrapher. Lets put ?200 on the table for the shoot. I am 60 so lets say old young shoot.
How many takers

yep, I see it what you mean now, Kim and Daz.

No matter what *my opinion* is the rules of the forum are here and should be abided too.

But to clarify my thoughts - I dont think an adult film star is an escort because she has sex in a film and gets paid.

I just find it bewildering that some models will strenuosly deny they 'escort' even though they'll shag an am in his own house with a camera bought from Dixons propped up on his dressing table, for his own private collection :)

Does filming the encounter suddenly not make it escorting?

Like tophoto said.. some interesting points raised!

It's a crazy environment indeed Tony and the edges can become so very blurred sometimes - that's why I do my best to keep my lines a s clear as possible.
As an aside - I did hear of 'working-girls' in areas of the US skirting round the local prostituting laws by filming themselves with their clients and then claiming that the clients were not paying for sex but for the video.
As I say, the edges are indeed grey.

But please don't get me wrong - I think that honest and open discussion about these issues is healthy. I never fall out with people just because we disagree.
!thumbsup!
