I use newscashe1.freenet.de to access the alt.fan.televisionx newsgroup but can't get alt.binaries. I have just seen another post saying something about binaries take a week. I am now very confused. Does it take time to get the binary sites? or do I need a different server to see them? If so can anyone sugest a good free server?

I think you might be referring to my post in answer to some questions about newscene. Posts should normally appear on the news servers within a few hours of being submitted. The week that I was referring to was the 'retention', i.e. the length of time the post continues to be available on the server before it is deleted and is no longer available. This varies greatly between news providers and also is normally set differently between groups that carry binaries where it is shorter than those that are text only.
