As a newcomer to the industry, I'm very interested to learn the finer details. I'm a cameraman/photographer and would love to gain some experience with some more established people. Yes, you can do okay with shallow pockets. As a Yorkshireman I'm as tight as a duck's arse i the wind but I can take a decent picture when I'm pushed in a corner so models don't mind being production-lined for peanuts as long as they get some great work and promotion out of it!
In all fairness though - you've gotta be good at something in this business...

...you can't drag BOTH feet.
