Vicky-Your motives for making the programme are-no doubt-''to let the public decide''.However the public can get a steer, from the programme you make.Unlike porn in Europe(a market where I work),there is less of a salacious air about the porn industry than in UK.Here it seems to be a rather down market business. In Germany, for instance, there are major companies, some Stock market quoted, engaged in all facets of the business. It might even be a good idea to compare the status of such organisations, with those similar ones, that exist in UK(although no UK equivalence comes to mind at present)?

Actually Vicki I would be interested in knowing what your view of porn is? Do you watch it yourself? I am not in the industry myself but have an interest in it. I personally dont think it is bad or sodid. the people who are in it treat it as a job like any other. They do what they do get paid and go back to their personal lives.
Its a lot better than manny jobs out there mine incuded and I work in the waste game which is pretty bloody grim most of the time. Sordid dosnt come into it. I have respect for anyone who works in the Adult Indusrty and know its bloody hard work. And the only one I know that is actually self regulating in terms of demands on health and safety. The tests for STDs are mandatory and no actor will be filmed without one. Also no proformer is forced to do anything even though they may not like the idea of anal or DP If they dont want to do it no one forces them. Its like anything else in life There are good Aspects and bad.

I reckon the day the main networks start shooting porn movies all the rest of us will be out of a job...So let em keep thinking its dirty and disgusting and sleazy.

I long since came to the conclusion that many consumers who buy porn are exploring their inner demons that they deny in the face of a percieved "normal" world.

Disgusting and fucked up is what draws people to our side of the street. Its so lovely you can almost taste it...Mmmmm!

Porn is the mistress that never judges you when you have a wank. Never complains with the most perverted thought going through your head and when you're done with her you can put her back under the bed until next time you want to use her and you dont even have to tell her you love her or take her out on dates (though Im sure someone in the US does that I'm sure)

Altosax makes a good point. As another 'outsider', I've spent time in the homes of a couple of pornstars recently (both with long term partners in the industry). I've witnessed their normal personal lives (not to mention good cooking!) at first hand.

Bear in mind however that self regulation does not replace statutory requirements. HASWA, EL compulsory insurance requirements, etc. etc. apply equally to both the waste game and the adult industry.

I have worked with two so called straight TV/Film cameramen myself Terry on two seperate occasions/movies and can genuinely report that at the start of each film they looked down on us porno scumbags and thought we didn't know what the hell we were doing. Both times at the end of each shoot each of them came up to me and said something along the lines of Wow thanks Dave, I have learnt a hell of a lot more from you than you obviously have from me.
Lesson - these guys might have the required qualifications to be a cameraman having attended whatever film school but they can't shoot porn. It's a totally different ball game and most are out of their comfort zone.

Jools, notwithstanding this thread I think the industry has to accept that ITV-Girl might actually get the help she needs. Just bear in mind that any girl offering assistance will do so in confidence rather than post here and get slated!

I guess we won't actually know until it either hits our screens or it doesn't.

If ITV did porn, they would probably cut to adverts just before the money shot.
