Its rubbish about 28 days, if your on a monthly salary then fine but if you do a shoot then you get paid.

We shot everyday for 2 weeks recently and the first thing we do after is pay the girl before she goes home.. It doesnt take alot to have a cheque book with you.

I'm not so sure if its all abou tbeing amateur paying on the day in cash.

I travel all over the UK and abroad to do my shoots. I'm not so sure i would be in peoples good books after filming them at their homes then giving them a cheque or paying them 28 days later.

I think paying in cash on the day is what has held me in good stead so far. In fact I know a lot of producers over the years have done this. Pro or amateur we all know what people would prefer but I do see Blue Birds point, if they shoot the kind of volume every day all week it makes sense to write kites.

Its when they bounce when the problems and discontent come in. It takes ages to build respect and trust and seconds to lose it.
