Wonder if any of you chaps knew of any "backstreet" shops in the London area still selling old copies of Escort, Knave, Men Only etc etc? Time was when there seemed to be one hidden away in every part of town; there used to be three within spitting distance of me! One of my old faves, in Turnmill St, appears to have closed recently as well. I noticed that even the old street markets rarely feature a bloke with a suitcase of old porn nowadays either. Is this what my Grandfather fought for?
Any help much appreciated.

Re: O/T 70s Brit Softcore Mags
There are several branches of the Magazine & Book Exchange (I THINK that's what they're called) still in business around London: one in King St, Hammersmith for sure. Usually stock old H&E, that sort of thing.
Most perished due to horrendous rent increases.

Re: Nice one fellas..........
Alex in Turnmill Street was hoping to find another location but I don't think he has had any luck.
I'm sure there are other places out in the suburbs but the only places left that I know of are:
- Bookscene, King Street, Ravenscort Park/ Hammersmith
- Place on the west side of the main road leading from Hammersmith Broadway up to Shepherd's Bush, near Brook Green
- Book and magazine exchange in Rochester Row, Vauxhall Bridge Road end
Think they have all been killed off by the internet, people reading less and the inexorable rise of the coffee shop.
I haven't used Jobby Dealer. Sounds good for specific issues but I like the serendipity of browsing.
