I have to say that I bought a new receiver and hooked it up to my mini dish, inserted my cam and viewing card and could not get a signal.
The people at SCT are totally incompetent, not helpful at all and dont reply to emails or return calls etc.
I have now bought a zone 2 mini dish and pointed it at hotbird, i can now tune in to SCT but my viewing card doesnt work!!!
To say im pissed off is an understatment.
Has anyone here tried to get SCT through a mini dish? If so what results have you had and how do u find the ppl at SCT.
I wont have anything to do with them ever again!

On the principle that SCT would now and again send out unencrypted test signals, trailers, ads and the like, I have endeavored to tune in to the SCT frequency using my digibox and the Other Channels arrangement.
The published data is: Frequency 12,525 Ghz; Polarity: (H)Horizontal; Symbol Rate; (SR) 14650 and Forward Rate Correction: (FEC) 2/3.
Symbol Rate is the snag; it seems that with the digibox you only have the choice of two - 22,000 and 27,500.
Is there a way of over-riding the digibox and entering a SR of 14,650?
The reason for all this is that I would like to test the strength of the signal before taking it any further.

Hi i`ve got a euro receiver i`ll check the signal out and get back to you. i`ve allways thought the dodgy box wasn`t much good. and that`s being generous.

What type of CAM is it you bought, should be Viaccess 2 or Irdeto. I have a card for Sex View TV and had problems with it initially but managed to get it changed without any help from the dealer who was useless. The problem could be one of 3 things, your CAM, Card or receiver

Re Sky Digibox enquiry, you definately won't be able to get this channel or the free view channel via a Sky digibox due to the symbol rating not being low enough, no override available.

Afraid I can't help, thought you might be using a VIACCESS 1 cam which would have invalidated your card, if you visit the web site www.satellites.co.uk and ask your question someone may be bale to point you in the right direction as to what the problem is, at a guess I would say it's your cam or card that's at fault

I thought the new porn channel(SCT)that could be picked up by SKY minidish users was being broadcast from Eurobird not Hotbird?
There might be a sister channel on Hotbird that could explain why you are picking up the channel but your smartcard does not work as it's not intended for that service only the Eurobird version.

It looks as if the Eurobird SCT service will be on encrypted air from 10pm to 7am or so and the Hotbird service is 24/7.
Therefore I guess the content will be different. SCT have said that the Eurobird service is to be tailored towards UK tastes and presumably that means British content. N'est-ce pas?
