LOCATION RATES & ADVICE

We have hired out our spa in Hertfordshire for several swinging parties and have now started to film our own amateur films, we have now been asked to offer the club for filming, it has a large lounge, huge gymn, five playrooms, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, plunge pool, etc etc. Can anyone give us some advice on how much we should charge per hour for hiring out for filming. From what I hear, quality locations (not studios) run to 350-400 a day in and around the London area, less the further out you are.

However only the more seriously budgeted shoots pay that, and only they have the commercial logic that makes such costs sensible.

You'll be wanting to list it as a location of course

It depends what you mean by quality locations. Any apartment shouldn't be ?350!!!! Jims been doing this for over 10 years and has NEVER paid more than ?200 for a good location Especially when the budgets have dropped. All i'm saying is don't get peoples hopes up for loads of money for their locations when it doesn't benefit the producers for shows on playboy and TVX i.e lil' ol' me

As I do not deal with the spa's bookings now and do my own productions I know exactly what costs are involved, and I have to agree with "laralatex" and say I would be very suprised if anyone got over ?250 for a location, thanks for the emails about the spa and my shop, replies have been sent.
