Are you looking for new or used ?
I use a second hand Sony VX2000, I know its not HD, but if its for website use is it going to reproduce the quality of HD over the web. It gives good skin tones and I have no problems with light levels, being able to move from dark to light with quick change of exposure.
I realise the PD150's offer the XLR sound input but the VX2000 is a bit cheaper second hand and takes a shotgun mic or boom via a phono.
I suppose if depends if you want a new camcorder or a older quality system, but ofcourse this comes with the pitfalls of buying second hand equipment.

Roger Cock, what is a good cheap if that's the term broadcast quality and that is the key point, broadcast quality, camera? I guess I am talking sub ?600 in value.

Re: good dv camcorder?
I wouldn't say any camcorder less that ?2K - ?3K was upto passable Broadcast (my larger camcorder cost the best part of ?5K and it just about ticks all the technical criteria on image quality for broadcast delivery standards).
However, I think you may get away with cameras less than these prices suitable for DVD & Web streaming / downloads from these new toys coming out at the moment - Seriously check out the Panasonic NVGS500B miniDV E.Cam 3ccd!!
All cameras rely on the skill of the operator to get the best out of their kit, and good lighting is obvious but essential.. Knowing how to light for your particular camcorder and understanding it's limitations is paramount..

Panasonic Mini DV 3 chip NVGS75 around ?350. Many of these low end cameras give brilliant results if the lights good but limited quality in low light. Would suggest this cam with some decent light!
