Hi All,
* This post is particularly applicable to adult stars/producers.
Hope things are going well for everyone out there. Here's to a prosperous 2006!
Just to let you know who I am. Working under the current pseudonym of Tom J. Moose, my independent company Viscera Motion Pictures has produced two feature length softcore lesbian sex comedy movies for the international market. They are produced in conjunction with our US distributor of independent sex and horror movies (www.eicinema.com) and the projects are produced for both high street rental/retail (Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Best Buy etc) and internet retail (Amazon, Video ETA etc) as well as cable and TV (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax etc).
'Misty Mundae: The Girl Who Shagged Me' received praise from AVN as both
video of the day and a nomination for the AVN awards for Best Alternative
Release 2005, as well as regular spots on websites such as Movie of the
Week on Mr. Skin.com
I have been asked to give a lecture at my old university regarding the adult entertainment industry from a producers point of view, and i thought it may be a good idea to ask you all if you would like to give me any quotes/viewpoints with reference to starring in/producing adult entertainment.
I appreciate this is'nt applicable to all of you, but we know some of you have starred in/produced some pretty hot material - whether solo, g/g or b/g.
As such, I wondered if any of you had any interesting feedback on the following you may like to post which i would reference in my lecture and for which i will happily give you credit and, although small, a little publicity (you never know - a roomful of students...some potential web hits maybe! not forgetting word of mouth!)
Are you male/female?
What role do you play in adult entertainment?
Why are you in adult entertainment?
What would you say in response to those who claim it is unethical and exploitational (particularly when such claims are directed at female talent)?
Does having high sex drive and being sex 'addict' go hand in hand with being an adult star/producer?
Is adult entertainment a respectable business?
Why do female stars decide to go 'hardcore' and do you call the shots?
I appreciate this is alot to ask, but I am delighted to have been asked to give the lecture as it is about time mainstream media courses embraced adult entertainment as a potential career path and an avenue worthy of discussion - hope you agree! I also think it is terrific to be given an opportunity to dispel some of the myths surrounding porn production given from our point of view as a respected producer of adult product, and i thought it would be great to give anyone here the chance to help bring this positive image across.
As i mentioned, we would be happy to reference any of you kind enough to give us a view - no matter how short.

Re: Help with lecture on Pornography
I believe Karen Wood and Anna Spam took part in debates in Ireland like this
Re: Help with lecture on Pornography
wendy taylor has taken part in two such debates, both in ireland: 'Pornography causes more pain than pleasure' & 'Pornography is a victimless phenomenon'

Re: Help with lecture on Pornography
A debate on pornography is pointless! The reason being, everyone has already made their minds up on what they believe BEFORE the debate begins! So why bother!
Re: Help with lecture on Pornography
When you are being hassled by some ghastly Sinead O'Connor type (And you will be) communist with a body like an ironing board and a face like a welder's bench wearing dungarees I suggest you project a few images in quick succession of the top Euro Babes such as Anetta Keys, Nikky Blonde and Silvia Saint and present another argument, "Is jealousy a factor?"
Go on...I dare you!
Go on...I dare you!

Hi Guys,
John - just to make clear, i know people will have made thier minds up, but this is a good opportuntiy to present opinions from people within the industry to people who only see the industry from a consumer/public point of view and may have exaggerated or bias negative opinions about our business simply because they have'nt heard any different.
I'm all for any opportunity to give a positive example!
The reason i posed some of the questions - particularly those relating to female talent, is because i would like to have some 'ammo' from other third parties when hit with negative questions regarding the role of female talent in porn.
I agree the debate generally is tough because many people do have fixed ideas - but i've know lots of people change opinion for the better after finding out how we operate as a company.
