Hi
Can I ask for some help please! There is a member of my forum who for some reason cant log in. It says there is a problem with his account, so I deleted his account and re-registered. I can log in using his details but he still gets an error saying "problem with his account"
Anyone experienced this before? Its confusing the hell out of me
Thanks
Neil

Re: Anyone with good experience with phpbb forums?
Thanks but he is already a member of a good few with no problems. I wonder if its because he is with AOL but then again other AOL members are getting online with no problem. Its very odd

It could be he's on a mac, doesn't have up to date java, using an old browser or his cache is loading an older vesrsion of the page.

Spanno its the worlds opinion Windows isnt Secure, are you going to stop using it ?
Its the worlds opinion the internet is not secure, you gonna stop ?
Thats just silly...
PHPBB is one of the most secure and contantly updated forums, i have come across, and if you have a security issue, that you can provide info on, il bet ya they have it fixed within days, Microsoft take months, the internet has taken about 20 yrs and not moved a muscle.
If you tell me the exact error messaged they are getting i maybe able to help you, as i have wrote many mods and stuff for PHPBB, but "problem with account" isnt an error message i have ever seen, its seems a little too vague.
Have you checked if the guys account has been validated ? and that he has comfirmed his email address ?

It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?

Hi Cenobitez
Thanks, and I agree with you that phpbb is the best out there, for the way it runs and the support you recieve.
The user in question had been a member of the forum since the beginning and had over 400 posts! He was on AOL which I think is part of the problem, I have noticed that the automatic emails that my forum sends out to AOL members all bounce back. Whether its the confirmation email or the one people can ask for when they get a message.
What i did in the end to see if it worked was to delete the user in question and then have him re-register from scratch. It all seems fine now, I wonder if somehow the software had got into some sort of loop and thought maybe he was already online. Not sure to be honest but seems well now.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions
