I need basic advice on making/selling gonzo vids

Hi everyone. I hope my questions aren't too dumb, but I want to make and sell short gonzo videos for US sites. I know absolutely nothing - all I have is a clear idea of how I want the videos to look. So where can I learn the basics? Things like the legal side, who to sell to, recruiting and dealing with models....etc etc. I can't find an idiot's guide on the web, and don't really trust the film schools and books that are advertised in various places. I don't want to set up a big business or run a site - I just want to make videos and sell the rights to them for a lump sum. What sort of price might I get for a good 20 minute video?

Hi, yes good post, i have been making and appearing in my own films for several years, and have worked with some great girls like Shakina, Donn-Marie, Sandie Davies,Summer,Tracy Williams, and many more and have had some great times working with these girls, i edit duplicate and distribute my own films and sell mostly over the internet, as far as selling in the States it wont be easy just because there is a huge market there, it is also well supplied, there is a setup called homegrown who specialise in homemade type films i dont know their web address but a search engine should find it you just send them a copy of your film and if they like it then they will purchase it, but make sure you have all the correct documentation like model releases and I.D.s as they are very strict about this in the states, and remember that once you have sold the sole rights to a film, thats your lot you cannot resale it, much better to find your own markets you will earn more from the film in the long run, im still selling films that i made several years ago, another market is ebays U.S.A site where they are less strict about the selling of adult films dont try the U.K. site or you will be kicked off, i am still making films and have lots of connections within the industry and if anyone would like to join me as a joint venture and share the contents please get in touch but remembers that if you wish to participate in the action you must have hiv/std certs, , cheers Graham.

If I were you I would be carefull of whom you do buisness with on here as most of them are not whom they may seem. I suggest going to the production links pages and mail companies direct though to be honest you may be seen as a threat

Make some short films & send them to Paul at 'Your Choice' as he pays about ?150 for ten mins we did this when first starting out, we also won 3 film of the months which won us another ?250 on each film.
It is a start in making amateur gonzo, we tell most people we come across to do this as your film will be seen by a big audience. Lots of people give up in this industry before they start as its slow at first making money but only the true producers stick with it, it will never make you rich but you'll meet lots of nice people & have plenty of fun on the way. Give us a bell (number on free site) if you want any more advise, as for 'Gonzo' it still lives in a very big way but watch films first then put something new into it to give you an edge on the competion.
