Not in the slightest, I intend to extend the application into other areas.

So what if someone cracks it? Only a few can do that or will even want to go to the trouble.

If you own a shop selling goods you put in security to prevent shoplifters...it doesn't mean it will be 100% effective all the time...but it's better than throwing the doors open and letting everyone take what they want.

What's the alternative? Distribute dvd's that are even more easily ripped? All the hassle of duplicating and order fulfilment?

Spot on Kev, most of my customers want to pay, they never haggle etc. In fact I have got some that just send some cash and ask for anything new.
Its not the guy who downloads and keeps it,,, Its the cunt at the carboot selling to those who don'rt know how to copy or source it..If everyone was clever enought to work out how to steal it then how come Piracy takes $100milion out of the production houses a year...

The point is appart from a few "The sky's falling" people everyone else knows it what the public wants. On demand, on TV or on PC, password protected, 24x7

Hi Riley,

The Home Office cracked down on me in 1983 when I produced the Rich & Randy series. It featured SM as practised by the rich. A particular character was the colonel played by Frank Thring with a public schoolboy accent. ( I wonder if anyone has a copy ?)

The danger is when cracking down and censoring violent and abusive images the state does not make the depiction of SM illegal. SM is a consensual form of sexual play whereas abuse seems to depict unwilling performers.

As a filmmaker I don't want to make films depicting violent abuse but I do want to make films of the SM genre. The Home office talks about playful fetishism, but what does this mean?

Perhpas the new proposals will fill in the grey areas but as usual it will probably be broad sweeping statements that at someones expense of financial or liberty loss that the wigs in the courts will have the final say as they do now. Interperatation is 9/10s of the law !!!
