Race and porn

Hello
I'm currently researching an article for Arena magazine about race and pornography. Particularly, I'm looking at why it seems to be a particular issue in America in a way that it's not over here (i.e. a large number of big contract girls in the US refuse to do interracial which doesn't generally seem to be the case over here or in Europe), and how things have changed over the last twenty years for better or worse.

I'd be interested to hear about anyone's experiences, thoughts or theories. I know journalists posting here often get a bit of a bollocking, but if Jobby Dealer or Anna Span are around I hope they can vouch for me as being trustworthy as I've written about them before.

Having just got back from the States, I noticed that a lot of girls thought if they did interacial, they wouldn't get contracts. It is appaerently bullshit. the other thing i had to wonder about is: if I worked with a girl (being mixed-race) would that count as interacial?

Anyways Mr Arena journalist man: I heard that some girls don't do inter-racial not necessarily because of any racist reason other than a lot of the black fellas are sporting huge batons. I imagine this can be incredibly difficult to work with especially on a multiple basis. I'm sure there are a small percentage who don't do it because of the colour of the guy...which I can never understand. maybe because I'm not white. I guess I'm what you call a rainbow shagger.

Ah you old timer from yester year but the correct term would be dual herritage as half-caste reffers to the days of casting in society and the 1800s.

Mind you this bloke's a WIND UP and I'm so angry I could stop typing........

I'm not a 'wind up merchant'. I've had a commission to write this piece, and thought that as the users of this site are extremely well-informed about the porn industry, it would be a good place to start

Your point seems to be that there's no issue to discuss around race & porn - as I said in my original question, it DOESN'T seem to be an issue in the British industry. I'm interested why this is the case over here, when during interviews with a number of American girls last year it really did seem to be an issue (i.e. they were convinced that their careers would collapse if they did a single interracial scene, no-one would come to see them dance etc.) Several other figures in the industry over there (i.e Lexington Steele) have been pretty outspoken about this, so I don't think I'm just imagining it. I'm certainly not looking to stitch anyone up, or write some kind of tabloid "expose" about anything - just write a decent, well-researched article.

Although iv not been to America, i have only ever actually done one inter racial scene. This isnt through me not wanting to do them, its just been the way it is. Producers have always booked me with white guys.

One producer did say to me a few months ago 'Dont do inter racial too soon in your career as it will mess it up' Which is something that i dont agree with.
