Cage, you couldn't be more wrong - Erotica is NOT promoted as a sex show - and definitely not as a porn show. The licence states clearly that no more than 10 per cent of the stands can sell hardcore porn.
Models are not let in for free (unless they know someone) because Savvas wants to attract couple not single blokes out for a gawp.
The stage show put on by Torture Garden has long been regarded as one of the highlights.
Erotica was featured on television in the first year in Manchester but this year's promotion was run by the Hon. Henry Cobbold, the heir to the Knebworth millions, and a former organiser of the 18 Awards.
Last year the show was promoted on trams running near G-Mex, on local radio and leaflets in the shopping centre. The local paper was not behind it - could it be because of local objections or because it sponsors the rival venue - the MEN Arena?

Re: Erotica manchester - the truth
I have been going for three years & this year was the quietest of all.
The thing that riled us the most was not the event itself; but the lousy signposting to the GMEX. I can't think of anything worse than driving around Manchester....expect perhaps driving round London.
