I am a budding Producer/Director - who is frustrated with the UK's poor resources. I have approached several models, most of whom do not reply,
all relatively new and under exposed. The ones that do will only work with 2 or 3 specific male performers.
How can you sell to Joe Public via the web or to a distributor the same faces performing with the same faces?. My time at the National Film School and visions inside my head are wasted.... Here comes Budapest or Prague.

I don't understand why someone who learnt their craft at The National Film School would enter the porn business at all. Not that you can't make a change mind. Just seems like back pedalling...Oh well, what do I know. Each to their own. Nothing like a dose of reality to hit one upside the head.

You have a wealth of new learning to do. They didnt prepare you for this at The National Film School then but if its something you really want to do, persevere, like the rest of us and you will help bring about that much needed change. Don't despair and runaway. This country needs you. Learn the ropes here first before you make assumptions about Europe being better. Step wrong anywhere and you could fall flat on your arse...Unless you have good contacts out there of course but please...Don't denigrate our efforts with posts like this. It really winds me up people slagging off Brit porn. If you have worthwhile talents young man ( I assume you are young-ish) then utilise em here. Theres plenty of good reliable models. Don't listen to the moanie minnies. Some of my best talent I had to wine and dine (and sometimes sixty nine, but that's another story). If this is a problem, look for your own talent. It will take a whole lot of work, but I used to spend many a weekend with my associates a few years ago having open days at my flat for new talent- boys and girls but be careful, if you are that new to it, you may be regarded with suspicion, which is natural. I got away with it because I was young, had tapes, computers and equipment everywhere compared to the grand dad types in string vests and a camera on a tripod with a bag of aniseed twists. If the latter is you, you got a whole lotta work to do- Hoo boy!

I just keep a bag of lollipops hidden away, just in case you or Faye get to them as they're Jacobs Creek flavour

I do have the tripod though... And a couple of string vests for the models.. I just remembered..

Out of interest when you contact new faces, what information do you give them about yourself and planned shoots.... That is a thought If you don't give enough then as they're new they might be wary of you...

I think one eyed jack has given sound advice on this subject.

But would suggest going overseas for talent wouldn't be in your best interest either.

Perhaps you should start making contacts with other producers and then build up your model contacts from here.
