Re: WARNING!!!!!
Well, I got it all back, with a system-reset; which took me nearly 2 hours.
All I lost permanently was the Opera cache.

Re: WARNING!!!!!
Funny didnt have an issue with it
FF3.6.23 inside browser protector sandboxie running no script FF add-on
I've always found Opera to be susceptible to scripts which was probably what crashed your PC

Re: WARNING!!!!!
I'm loaded for bear with AV software, but got no alarms.
I'm used to crashes but this was pretty severe.

o/t Re: WARNING!!!!!
AV software only protects you against known threats
best estimates put that as low as 70%
The script that crashed your PC might not have even been malicious
You could always check the event viewer which is in
programs/adminstrative tools/event viewer/system - right click/properties
depending on which version of windows your using
Either that or run something like Secunia and see how many programs you have that are out of date and potential time bombs

Re: o/t Re: WARNING!!!!!
I checked EV but it wasn't much help in identifying the cause, only the fix.

Re: o/t Re: WARNING!!!!!
What ever it was it was browser specific
When I tried it in opera it simply froze after a few seconds but didnt crash my PC...that was without the protection of sandboxie and no script etc
This browser test is a good way of knowing if you need to tweak its settings

Thanks.
I stick with Opera coz it's so comfy and I'm used to it- but it does have its
little quirks [don't they all].
