Common Law scheme is more complicated and I'm afraid I'm not much versed in it. However, it poses an exception rather than the norm.

Back to the original question... Our porn starlet is French because she was born to French parents in Germany. She couldn't get German nationality at birth given the German adoption of jus sanguinis.

When the Aussie dollar was worth 60-75cents not that long ago US producers looked at Australia and saw cheap talented everything especially on the production side
Effectively they were saving 30-35% of labour costs for all those being paid in Aussie dollars
Maybe not the case today given the pathetic state of the US dollar meaning the Aussie is worth more but wage wise Australia will always be behind its US counterparts so who is to know
