When is a 'pornstar' not a pornstar?

Post by jj »

I ask this in puzzlement at the recent spate of 'one-guy-only' gals. Zafira, Satin
Bloom and Ivanka/Kathleen Pitts are recent egregious examples. Melanie [4], too,
from a slightly earlier era.
This practice, to me, smacks more of home movies than porn. Where is the frisson,
watching a girl do it with the same guy that you know she's done it with that
morning in the bathroom, the previous night in the kitchen, and will do it once
more with in the conservatory tomorrow? Yawwwwnnnn.....
Porno-girls are supposed to ruttingly sluttish, preferring to fuck anything with a
pulse [yes, even Meretricious Malone], not cosied-up in some glutinously cloying
cutesy-poo monogamous 'significant relationship'. Yecccchhhh.....
I'd sue them under the Trades Description Act, if it applied to such disingenuity-
bordering-on-falsehood.

"It's porn, Jim; but not as we know it......".

No! Wait!!
I finally found one where SB doesn't boff her Rooney-esque paramour.

However, one non-monogamous swallow does not an exculpation make......

Of all the "porn couples" I have seen in Euro and American movies (Siffredi/Rosa, Jon Dough, Malone/Falk, etc) I have never seen one that delivered even remotely hot scenes in any of their films. The heat just was not there, probably due to their familiarity with each other. Siffredi never analed Rosa in the movies (nor pissed on her) they made, neither did Malone, nor did C. Clark with Deborah Wells. Just goes to show you that with others they (mostly males, but sometimes females) did more nasty things but when it involved each other, it was "easy does it".
It gets even worse when the female in the couple only does him, but he does other women, and she only gets to do other girls.

I thought Mark Davis and Yvonne delivered some pretty good scenes. as did Bamboo and Pascal St. James.

There were some rare exceptionas like Tammi Ann and Al Borda, but Brad Armstrong his partners, Cal Jammer/Cameo, Dave Cannon/ Brigitte Monet, Jeanna Fine/Sikki Nixx, Kari Fox/Troy Tanier, do not seem to have generated any memorable hot performances. In certain situations it was only because the actress was already considered an enthusiastic performer that elevated her scenes with her male paramour to some level of heat.

Thanks, both, for not making an issue of my less-than-perfect research : -)
Had my brain been fully functional at the time I could have quoted several more
examples.

Irrespective of the merits or demerits of any particular 'couples' pairing, my
overwhelming feeling with this sort of stuff is something like 'being sold a pup'.
To me, this sub-genre is in a sense more than softcore, but less than hardcore.
I don't see these couples as somehow 'playing the game'.
My accusation of vague dishonesty stems from the fact that any emotional
relationship between performers is almost never advertised [now, I wonder why?]
and it will only gradually dawn on the consumer, having now watched several
essentially identical scenes, that such a relationship does in fact apply. For me,
the result is a feeling of having been slightly cheated.

So true, JJ. At the time I saw Rocco paired with a certain Rosa in a couple of movies for Rosebud (ANAL DELINQUENTS, DEEP CHEEKS 4, released in 1993) I did not realize the two were an item. There was no way of (me) knowing there was a "relationship". This was before the internet and databases.
Then I wondered why he would buttfuck other performers in Rosebud movies but not Rosa. I only caught on later. That was pretty much the case with Deborah Wells and C. Clark, and why every time I saw Draghixa she seemed to teamed with Eric Weiss.
With time and with the rise of the internet and information about porn movies and such newsgroups like alt.sex, romantic entanglements among porn performers became more widely known.
I agree that if you are not "in the know" about a certain romantic relationship between two performers, and when you do discover it, you sort of feel cheated especially if they were just going through the motions and just fucking to collect two paychecks.
The same could be said for mainstream movies featuring performers who are involved romantically in some way. Generally those movies are box office duds (CLEOPATRA, GIGLI, etc), and the sparks between the individuals only occurred off the set.

I'm glad I'm not alone in smelling a rat.

Porn is still porn but I'd wager where people involved off set are performers on screen there will be lines they dont cross or stuff they only wish to keep for their own bedroom antics.

Who knows maybe anal really hurts & incontinence is something you wish your wife to possibly experience

I think the genre & the way a scene plays out is far more an issue than who its with

Quite frankly if a female pornstar has done nothing but one genre ie
low grade gonzo , high end art? (racquel darrian & derek lane)
the male pornstar could be different everytime and you could still feel like your watching a re-run of the first

Porn by the numbers is as much a killer as the same performers doing it for the 10th/20th/30th time
