Alban Ceray's nationality

Post by Bad Samaritan »

Alban Ceray is not French but Monegasque. He was born in 1945, by the way.

Ceray was the son of a rich French industrial or something like that. So the "Monegasque" nationality might well have been some kind of a formality.

Monegasque nationality is an upheld status, which is reserved for natives. Only about 15% of Monaco residents have it. I don't know of his father's profession but Ceray himself is running a jewellery business in Monaco.

Well, this is not definite proof. First of all, for many, many years Ceray was (is still?) running the most famous swingers' club in Paris. So, the professional activity has only a moderate value. As for the nationality, do we have any concrete proof that he possesses a Monegasque passport, and even if he does, does this mean that he can't be of French origin?

If he has Monegasque nationality, it's a very low possibility that he or his father had been naturalised.

What circulates around as his real name sounds Monegasque (French first name and Italian surname) but any French citizen from the vicinity may also be carrying such a name.
