Hello jj. Though I appreciate very much your knowledge and sense of humour, I think that you're for once missing your point. Swift's story about "Big-endians and Little-endians" did not concern the differences between nations, races etc. He wanted to make fun of the theological controversies which raged then between Christians (as I am sure he was not interested in Jews or Muslims), mainly between Catholics and Protestants, but also within the Catholic church itself (the Jansenists) about questions like "Grace", "Predestination" and the like. We may smile today about that, but a lot of people lost their lives for their opinions, such as Catholics in Elizabethan England or Protestants in France or Spain. BTW, in Eastern Europe, the Orthodox church despised them both with fair equity.
So, I suggest that we return to our main topic - which is the best way to please a girl?
Dean Swift, to jj

Indeed; I may have been a little guilty of choosing a too-specific
example with Swift's critique, but it was meant to be illustrative
of my general point about many Humans valuing minor differences
above major similarities.

Was that the topic?
